Better team performance today, though it was close in the end. Our visitors could have scored several more if they had taken their chances; both defences looked fragile at times. But it was an open, entertaining, end-to-end game which City just about deserved to win. We've said City need two strikers up front, and the return of Nombe to partner Paterson made an obvious difference. He was using his pace and strength, running at defenders and getting to the byline, which is what we have lacked recently, and that is what caused the first goal -- I reckon Pato would have turned that cross in if the defender hadn't. The goal lifted the players and we then saw midfielders getting into the box, something else we haven't seen enough of, and this led to the penalty and second goal. Pato has had a dry period but the penalty meant a lot to him today. He has a good record from the spot. It was also good to see Reece back to his best and prepared to shoot and get well forward. Joe Oastler, too, had a fine game.
I hope Godfrey is back for the next one as we are still missing his drive and determination, but with Poole losing again we are effectively safe now so let's enjoy ourselves in the last few matches and give the fans something to look forward to next season!

Yep required that.. Said it would be more of the same and Eastbourne did not let me down, tried their best another day a point but then again we were unlucky not to get a penalty first half and we had our fair share of shots .. A tough performance needed as said above pressure off let's go and enjoy the last few games..

Absolutely spot on Rijs, a much, much better performance. Pato down the channels and Sam in their faces caused them problems, Reece stepped up and we managed them well enough defensively. A good solid win and as said, hopefully weβre safe now πππ
