They've got a defence marshalled by the god awful Jean Niate yet have somehow yet to concede a goal, hope that changes tomorrow, lets get out there and get ourselves 3 points

What a fantastic team performance, to a man battled and thoroughly deserved the victory against big spending full time Torquay.
First half was brilliant, was disappointed in our midfield at Gloucester, they batted against Woking, but tonight they were amazing! Great feet by Pato to find Rob for the goal and really only an excellent save from their keeper kept the score down to one before half time.
Second half Torquay were much more dominant but stand up the defence, threw their bodies on the line and in the end we werenโt really troubled.
First excellent win of the season buzzzzzzzzzzzibg ๐๐๐๐๐

Big victory today for the team to breathe in the championship. Let's fight in the next match to win more and climb higher on the table.

Thought we were good value for the win, could have been 2 up at the break, our passing and movement, particularly between McEachran , Sinclair, Tshimanga and Paterson was outstanding in the first half.
Second half was alot more defending from us as Torquay looked for an equaliser, but some good defending and poor finishing resulted in 3 points for the City
As with Woking on Saturday i wasn't overly impressed with Torquay tbh, a very ordinary looking side at this level
Would be nice with some of these sides if they could realise the reason they weren't playing much football is because we weren't letting them, rather than just saying "we didnt play very well"

They are a Full time outfit so expected the change of pace second half. Yes they hit the post and bar, but we also had one blocked on the line, first half, and second half when Patos through on goal like that it's usually in. If defensively your stretching their forward line it's going to happen, and if we got a point for hitting the bar and post last season, we would have been nearer top than bottom. Nice to see Mark using subs to run the clock down. Its done countless times against us, unfortunately Eze got the worst of a collision and spent the night in hospital. Saturday will be a test, as I think suspensions start.

Their fans (fan?) are adamant that last night they were "outstanding". . . . . I'd hate to see them on a bad day. Not a single iota of talent between them. That's not to impugn their victory, I just don't want anyone here to be under the impression that we were bested by a side full of talented but amateur blokes who simply don't love the game enough to be professional. Make absolutely no mistake about it, we were beaten yesterday by 11 blokes who could, quite conceivably, have never played the game before in their lives. Picking 11 punters out of the Inn on the Green on a Saturday night would stand a 50/50 chance of making a better team than Oxford City...' on torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10147&start=75 What was their problem with Craig King? At the end some of their fans tried to get at him as he went down the tunnel. Brief highlights on here: www.thenationalleague.org.uk/match-info/match-centre/1-3614780

The only reaction to the Torquay Tinpot poster above from me is.
Let it all out Lad, clear those demons then relax. Welcome to Conference South, we were in the North and played in front of bigger crowds than you get, and professional outfits like Massivefax also known as FC Halifax whose stewards were bouncers, and wore penguin suites. FC Chester another reincarnation but at least they were respectful. Then you had the huge Stuckport County who always seem to finish also ran, in that league, and invaded our pitch, when that professional outfit got stuffed on a rain sodon Marsh Lane, which is why we have the 3G now. They weren't very complimentary either, until we joined their protest March before the return game that year in Stockport. Last year we beat Colchester with most of that side, at their place, also came within seconds of taking Notts County back to Marsh Lane, we all hope they were rooting for us as we were on BT sport.
No idea what problem they had with King who is still highly thought of at his former club Luton Town.
We have to remember it's the minority of fans though, Torquay have the money to bring who they want in. We as always will play with passion with what we have.
A reminder to the Massives. Howler first goal.. But that's Kayden Jackson scoring the last goal and look who he's playing for now..
See you at plain-moor...

Their issue with King is that their number 9 collided with him at a corner with the referee giving King the freekick. Both making genuine attempts for the ball but the referee will always give a FK in favour of the keeper in that situation.
They moaned he was taking the piss with the length he stayed down completely oblivious to their 9 receiving treatment for the same length of time!!
As for the pub team comment on their forum, theyโre the ones playing Niate at Centre half! and anyway Rob Sinclair would walk into their team as he would into most National Prem sides too
