National Conference South Is that a thing? I thought it was officially National League South, having previously been (Vanarama) Conference South. The 'National League' rebrand replaced all mention of 'Conference' and I can't think of a time when the two brands were combined.

Yeah Conference South will do, or a number of other combinations But my Dyslexia prefers that carnation......

Well done City! A solid three points and this keeps the momentum up for the Cup game next week. Hemel had a man sent off today against Truro (who had two red-carded!).

A very good result for City today. Important in terms of getting back to winning ways in the league, and for keeping confidence high for next week's cup tie.

Not just a good result, but a good performance in the second half. (The first is best forgotten, apart from Josh's goal.) Craig pulled off good saves when needed to keep a welcome clean sheet and that tackle by Joe probably saved an equaliser. Beasant in their goal made a good stop from Reece Fleet and an even better block on Robbie Sinclair, who was turbo-charged with energy today. He deserved that second goal and took it well, but a great assist from Reece made it easier. Just a pity we got two bookings and Kabby missed a golden chance to make it three at the end, because his hard work all game merited some reward. Though it has not been a happy hunting ground for us in recent years, we can go to Hemel with a bit more confidence than last time.

From the defences point of view the communication was much better, Craig was very pleased with the clean sheet. Midfield battling not sat too deep and up with the high tempo Concord maintained. A clearance off the line and a brilliant Eddie Jones last ditch tackle and Joe was immense. Just what we need going into next week's Cup game. Concord are a very decent side and they didn't have a bad day or did Dartford last week, They were beaten by the better team over 90 minutes.

Everyone was on their game again on Saturday but i feel the need to echo Jonah's admiration for how good Dokes has been this season, especially when putting it into perspective.
An 18 year old who up until the tail end of last season has only playing experience in Youth and Hellenic league football and he has effortlessly made the transition into National League football with some outstanding displays for us, being rewarded this week by being named in the joint North/South team of the week in the NLP, his raiding runs into midfield remind me very much of James Clarke but i feel he's probably technically got alot more to his game than Clarkey had, and he's now playing in the FL with Bristol Rovers
This lad is something very special and i think can grow from strength to strength.

I never mention him.. I don't want him scouted out yet .. But we missed him at Hemel last time.

...and Zac McEachran made the NLS TOTW too ( HERE). Very well deserved for Zac who deserves it for his performance at the weekend, and his superb recent form. At the same time I am left wondering a bit how the National League do work out their Team of the Week. It's quite surprising that Udoka can make a North/South combined team in the Non League Paper and not a South only side by the National League. The NLP work theirs out using player ratings provided by the various match reporters, but no idea what system the NL use as surely they can't have representatives at all the games! Not like they even take it from our man of the match poll as Zac didn't even feature in that! Thought there were several players on Saturday who certainly wouldn't have been out of place in any team of the week, certainly a positive for weeks to come!
