Was hopeful of the replay being on TV...but now see that the 'media darlings' Salford City also have their replay (v Shrewsbury) on that Tuesday evening as well!! Still, great to get an FL club at Marsh Lane for the first time for a competitive match.

Still a little stunned by it all. A great day out, a great game of football and a great draw...…………..but really, it could and should have been a win! The replay will give some much needed coffers - and I cannot imagine how many Tranmere will bring down for a mid week game. To a man 10/10 for me - cannot pick out a single player who didn't play to his very best - absolutely delighted

In today's newspaper The Times had Kabby as Player of the Round: thoroughly deserved!

Fingers crossed.

A rare post from me on here - obviously the group of us that are usually in the Shed for 90 minutes will have to re-position ourselves tomorrow. I know some people have their behind the goal routines but I think a few of us are planning to go in what's now known as the Woodland Terrace, on the ring road side of the ground. Hopefully having a roof will help generate an atmosphere, and it would be good to get as many of us in there as possible.
Also, I think the reason the Southport game will be on the Sunday is because it's part of the simulcast. A handful of games each round are moved to the Sunday so that there can be a BBC live updates programme, and also to improve attendances. For example, if we were to get there, we would attract a lot more Oxford United fans on a Sunday, and if Tranmere get there they will attract a lot more Everton/Liverpool fans.

Well done you Hoops...showed a lot of character tonight. If not the FA Cup, then perhaps the FA Trophy??!

Unfortunately a couple of mistakes we just don't make usually. Which Tranmere can relate to in the first game, cost us dearly.
Second half much better, but damage had been done. But, we never gave up its not part of our DNA

Not to be for your lads tonight. We will not however forget the brilliant show that you guys put on in the game at our place and the sporting way that you played both games-richly deserved applause at PP at the end of it. Good luck for the rest of the season and I for one will keep an eye out for your results.

Thanks and good luck in the next round. Your lads were too sharp for us in the early stages. Think we should have had a free kick on the edge of your area just before the second goal, but overall you were the better team tonight and deserved it.

Well, it's never easy to take a defeat, but this one is at least easier.
Tranmere learned some lessons from last time we played and we were unable to surprise them twice - which makes sense considering how surprises work. They showed their greater quality of player and of preparation by turning up with an effective game plan which totally neutered us. That's the real difference between a full time club and us part timers, and the reason the cup throws up upsets every year is that sometimes people prepare wrong. Not the case today!
If you're going to go out, doing it in a money-spinning replay to an absolutely lovely club is a good way. Just would have been nice to have nicked a goal to celebrate...

The official FA Website has the attendance as 1303, a record for Marsh Lane for a competitive match, just beating the gate for City's SL play-off final against Totton that took them to Step 2. Unfortunately they also have the score down as 0-3

Well done Tranmere, a great professional performance 👌
Thought we were a bit below the pace but battled well to keep the score to two nil. If one of our half chances had gone in who knows what could have happened.
Tranmere fans were fantastic, what a great bunch and a credit to their club, best of luck in n the next round 👍👌👏👏

Just a few more minutes on the Wirral folloowed by a ground-out victory at home...and Marsh Lane could have been hosting Spurs. Football's full of big IFS, isn't it?
