Hope City can keep the good form going on Tuesday. E.T.U. still in the relegation zone, but they had a good win on Saturday against Chelmsford, and City have never done too well against them: only three wins in ten meetings, and no wins at all (yet!) in the VNS. Could climb to ninth if other results are favourable.

Not one of Jack Stevens best games in Goal either.

Certainly a shame they didn't make more of the occasion. Mind you, 'par' for the OM is not that high anyway .

This is a game you'd hope we'd win fairly well but then this is City.
An early goal to settle us in and get us going, i feel Nombe could be a key man tonight, they won 2-0 against Chelmo but then were backs against the wall for most of the game going by the match report
we need to be organised and professional in our approach

Good news is, tonight's programme should more than compensate.

A great win for City and a fitting result for Mark Jones on his 100th match in charge. Four league wins on the trot for the first time since September 2011, I think. That's a really impressive run, taking the Hoops to just one point outside the play-off positions!

Had we scored just one more goal we would have finished in 9th position! Well done, you super Hoopers!

Same Lady referee from last seasons game. Many of the the decisions i did not agree with. But the sexist abuse she experienced towards the end of the game was absolutely disgusting.
Stewards seem to think this was acceptable...
The game Happy Hoofers and long throw merchant's...not much else to write home about...

OM's report HERE. Odd coincidence: attendance exactly the same as last season's fixture - 174.

Stewards seem to think this was acceptable... That's a great shame. It seems to be an unfortunate fact of footballing life that all crowds at all grounds (though generally minimal at most non-league games) appear to contain a handful of neanderthals intent on racist/sexist/homophobic etc comments to players/officials etc. Stewards really should be doing all they can to minimise such behavior.

Stewards were being kept busy by the Thurrock fans in the Shed who decided to complain about all the swearing in the songs we were singing. There was none, but they were clearly very offended nonetheless.

Good programme again last night. Enjoyed the Q&A feature with Jonah, though can't understand Patrick why you didn't put to our bald centurion, the question on everyone's lips...just why has he got a Rich Tea biscuit on his head? 😜.
Thought the attendance looked low even by our standards - not helped greatly by only five ETU fans adding to the number. Even so, good atmosphere created by the Shed Enders in the second half... without a single, solitary expletive!
Defies belief what the Famous Five claimed to have heard! 😂

Indeed, there were also four wins in a row at the end of the 11/12 season: the last two league matches and then the p.o. semi-final and p.o. final. Having another look just now, there were actually five successive league matches won, with some FA Cup matches tucked in amongst them, in September/October 2011.

I wouldn't have described the ETU group in the shed as that Chris but, everyone has their views As pointed out they complained about everyone else swearing, I was shouting at the defense. Kingy and Joe can vouch for that, and it was all encouragement. The problem was when myself and the shedenders had been lectured by stewards on something we had not done, the stewards disappeared, and missed the bile projected at Amy in the middle of the pitch by the very complainers,I'm sure if they had been wining things may have been different....
