They have a Cup replay tonight v Barwell, I think. Workington were in the Football League between about 1951-1977. Perhaps a prediction after tonight's result. It's a heck of a trip down here for them, and we get to make the return journey ourselves in February!

l'll go for a score for score of 3-1. City - 3 Stunning moves of 5 or more passes resulting in goals by Benjamin,Bash,Walcot. Workington - tap-in by some old Barrow/Carlisle player following ridiculous ping-pong in penalty area. Attendance 336. I'll be bringing around 6 as part of my birthday booze up.

Some stats : After 6 away games in all comps, Workington have won 1 drawn 2 lost 3, however there three defeats have been against Halifax 5-1, Chester 1-0 and Brackley 3-1, there away win came at Boston 3-1, with cup draws at Blyth and Barwell. They have had a busy week,we have had a nice rest, they have a long trip. Nothings easy in this league, I think we will edge it 2-1 Cook, Benjamin att 350

There will be a number of Workington exiles turning up on Saturday, plus those making the trip - I'd guess about 20 - 30 in total. I'm in Sussex and this is my nearest game for three seasons. Luxury !!
What's parking like at your place - I can't seem to find much on the site about that ?

We're do you keep getting 350 from Att ? Be lucky to get 250 ! Over 400 for workingtons game at Brackley and they usually get 300 Ave even though they are top of the league for a while! No united game so about 50 from they're neutrals easy 300+ 250 nonsense ;D by the way if your so interested have a go at the score I say 2-0 City Basham, Benjamin. Att 375 :) ;)

Parking should not be a huge problem. We have two areas, one nearer the stadium (and much better) than the other, which can be a bit of a quarry zone at times. Turn down the lane to your left on entering and head towards the ground: you can't miss it!

Interesting thought - sledging your own keeper! Remember he did deny us a goal a year or two ago by lying down in his area pretending to have a broken foot, and the ref gave him a free kick. No, I'm not sure he would want to come to CPF! Or would he.....? Presumably no prospect of getting Sandercombe from the nearly defunct Truro (we could give him a new jersey) or even a loan of Jason from Tranmere?

Workington at 29/10 at the bookies is well worth a punt,£20 on it for me, Oxford City odds on favourites.

Eventually booked and shut up. Can't bear a keeper wearing his socks Britney Spears style ( can't bear any footballer doing that to be honest ! ;D

Billy has his coaching badges and it is no secret that he wants to go into coaching, as a buisness, he is around 40 now and a player coaching situation would suit him well, I just think he is looking for the right club. Wish him the best whatever he should do!

Perhaps Billy ought to have signed for Workington! Talking of which, I thought we might have had more comments about today's game: perhaps everyone has been at the pub celebrating our win Still 4th but closing on the leaders. Wheels falling off in various quarters elsewhere (did someone mention Brackley?) but we are quietly and effectively going about our business: this club is justifying promotion and building a tremendous spirit. As Fordy said on BBC Oxford this evening we are halfway towards 'safety' in terms of points in the bag. Get that 45-50 points and we can then kick on and see how well we can finish the season, which promises to be as good as anything that OCFC has achieved in the last 100 plus years. We also need those ground improvements to satisfy the ground grading. Colin and Co are currently looking at this. If it comes to some sort of public appeal, I am sure we can all find the 'widow's mite' to put in the hat. Getting more fans in through the turnstiles helps as well!

Yes some very nice non league people, had a chat post game and throughout, Worky players/fans and officials a credit to there club, all the best to them! As for the game, well done everyone, best performance for some time As for me well in south oxford colours in full view did not get the usual abuse,it was worse "who bought u the shirt REPLY 'see you soon in the league"

We don't need a keeper, but 10 others would help ! Decent first half but the wheels came off badly from a Workinton point of view second half, and if it was boxing it would have been stopped at the third.
But just to say thanks to all at OCFC a real friendly welcome , and I enjoyed the day immensely up till 4 o'clock, and overall as much as any 5 - 0 pasting allows. Cheers.

Great result for City. The 'blip' at Yate put firmly behind them and, by all accounts, performing well in all departments. Watched Harrogate demolish Brackley who seemed all at sea. Looked jittery in front of new keeper, and, crosses apart, failed to draw anything other than routine saves from the home keeper after the break. Tom Winter, when he came on as a sub, looked the only one lilkely to do any damage.
