A trip to Woking or Maidstone United on January 12th...if we can get past Maidenhead.
Three exciting recent matches v Woking in this competition, but no Trophy history against Maidstone in either the present or previous incarnation.

FFS, got to try and get rid of a Northampton Town v Carlisle United ticket now! Any takers? Luckily, as part of a deal, only cost me a tenner!
So, seems like a few decent pubs in Maidstone ( only seen the Stones when they played at Dartford in the Nineties) and the ground close to Maidstone East station. Less than ยฃ20 and direct from Victoria!

Some decent pubs in Maidstone it appears! The Swan, just a minute or so from Maidstone East station, and the seemingly brilliant Flower Pot on Sandling Rd, right near the ground - nine ales, four real ciders...so there last stop before k.o. then! ๐

The Flower Pot and Swan are both great choices. If you have an extra ten minutes for a stroll, wander over to the Rifle Volunteers for a Goachers. Not many places like that left.

Tough luck Hoops, now, as they say, to concentrate on the League. Att.: 1156

Yet again a very poor Ref and Lino. Cast iron penalty And some bazaar decisions to say the least. We looked in control Then Jefford went off with what looks like a broken foot. Replacement out of position for following attack, which they scored from. Zac came on then went down with pain in his Knee, he continued then got Through onto goal but struggled with his leg to finish. Had a ping pong in the goal area situation, like at Maidenhead which we finished off there, but this time their defense dealt with.
One of their defenders got warned twice for poor challenges, before getting a Yellow, then the official in the middle gave another two warnings without showing a Red, which can only be described as Buffet refereeing in the Stones favour.

Hope you chaps enjoyed your day, apart from the result. More noise from your fans than ours, despite a rare home win. Onwards and upwards. plastic-passion.webflow.ioAlternative match report.

Unimpressed. Not enough swearing Had a good day appart from no halftime drink in dry stadium, and not really impressed with Stewards Voyeurism in the Toilets, but whatever floats their boat

No drinks in the away end? I always thought there was a bar.
Anyway, highlights.

If there was a Bar, it wasn't open Michael. Just hot food and escorts to the toilets, wearing high viz...

No bar; no drinks; voyeurism; poor stewarding; poor officials again (another ignored penalty shout). Not looking forward to a return any time soon then OWHH??

Excellent pubs...Ye Olde Thirsty Pig and Flower Pot. Quick pint after in the Swan near the station - poor, no idea how that gets into CAMRA! Pies in the ground - decent! I do wonder at times what some of our fans would do if City went any higher in the pyramid...crying because being searched on entry!

That would have been an interesting tie in R3 if we'd won: Salford City at home. Good luck to Maidstone in that game: should draw a good crowd.

Don't remember moaning about being searched, and even at the wind tunnel Kasham stadium you can have a beer at half time. They also do check the toilets for smoking, I'm told. But they draw the line at watching someone have a number Two... As for going there again absolutely not, even I have my standards, and no seats when I was tired, also failed disabled standards. Nope wouldn't go back for all the real ale in Britain.. But good luck in the next round.

However, that and the food was poor (best pie in ages!๐) and comments by others at previous away games about having to purchase tkts before entering etc are par for the course for any club (and its fans) with any ambition. To complain reeks of tinpot I'm afraid! Couldn't smoke in or be let out to at half time either, if compiling a Maidstone Magna Carta! ๐

Oh the humanity!
Growing pains I'm afraid, and a ground trying to catch up with crowds, policing and grading. I miss unsegregated games and a pint on the terrace, although the FA and beerchuckers put paid to that. I wish we didn't have to give nearly half the big stand to always fans.
But there are worse things in life, like relegation.

Having been to league games at Oxhey Jets, Langford & Broxbourne I really donโt mind a quick pat down at Maidstone.
The big terrace added to the ground since our last visit I liked, although it only seemed to be us making any noise, yet it wouldโve lended itself well if a few hundred home fans had got chanting
