Oh dear: now Hemel have leapfrogged us. Still, we have tasted the playoff positions now, so onwards and upwards!

As Welling have equalised at Hemel, we are back in the playoff positions!

Fantastic win again today, and other results confirm us in the playoffs, which is a really good Christmas present for players, staff and supporters.

Great result for the Hoops (though shame about the red card). Into seventh place as we go into the holiday run of matches, and five league wins in a row for the first time since September/October 2011.
SIX in a row would be really something if they can get that win on Wednesday: not done that in the league since December/January 2005/06.

Wasn't that in the Spartan South Midlands League?

Seems that we've creeped into the playoff places by virtue of goals scored heading into Christmas!
Just seen that we have scored 13 alone in the last four league wins (17 in the last five wins in all competitions!), which has actually put us just two goals behind the league top scorers in Woking!
The red card certainly looked harsh live, and does still look harsh in the footage. Jonah has said in his interview though that we are likely to appeal it, so fingers crossed that we have a positive outcome on that!!

The ref was pretty strict all afternoon. Don't know why Joe had a rush of blood to the head when things were going so well, but his opponent did make a big dive which may have made it look worse. it was over-enthusiastic rather than malicious, but you can't go in with studs showing today. (George Best used to do it in every match he played for Fulham.)
That apart, what a great team performance again today. We are playing football as good as anything we've seen here before. Only the heady days of Yussuf, Coulson and the Spanish crew can compare with it. The team may be slow starters, but once they get going they look sharp and hungry. They rarely give the ball away cheaply, and they work hard to get it back quickly once they have lost it, so they enjoy a lot of possession. Weston defended pretty well for the first hour but didn't offer much threat up front. After that we started to open them up and as so often before, we looked like we could have scored even more in the end. Worth remembering we did this without MacEachran, Ashby and Jefford, too.
Wiltshire, who didn't impress me in the early part of the season, is growing in confidence with every game and he played with great energy today. Self is a very tidy player, quick and sensible. Dokes is amazing for his age, and young Tom Carter had another sound game free of errors. Craig F has frightening pace to burn, and Otudeko has a lot of skill -- his shimmy and shot just minutes after coming on created the third goal for Kabby, who also looks dangerous and confident with the ball at his feet. Craig in goal hardly ever looked troubled today, and he is giving his defenders confidence too. Eddie Jones always gives a wholehearted performance, but perhaps the two stars of the show today were Reece Fleet, imperious all over the field, and Joe who does everything well -- except for the odd moment...
It remains to be seen how much we will miss him if we don't appeal, but our lack of defenders could make this a severe blow. For the time being, at least, we can enjoy our recent memories and successful run this Christmas, and give a vote of thanks to Jonah and Justin for bringing this about.

I forgot to mention the excellent Sam Nombe, who was highlighted in the BBC Radio Oxford report. Maybe our five wins have made someone at the local station pay us some attention at last -- today our report was actually given precedence over that of Northamptonshire's Brackley!

Didn't see the Sending off incident,as I was conversing with depressed Weston supporter at the time.
Good to hear zacs knee is better, hopefully the scan won't find anything major.
The whole team are playing well at the moment Eddie Jones was outstanding, but because he's not at the business end (scoring/assist) You don't always get the recognition.
Josh chomping at the bit to get back in could well leave Jonah with a headache selection wise.
Threats to defences come from all over the pitch that's been the difference from September. Some nice training ground moves used in a short corner and free kick. Must keep it going.....

Wasn't that in the Spartan South Midlands League? In fact there were EIGHT league wins in a row at that point. Jonah played in six of them, and scored in one.

The appeal on Joe Oastler's red card was UNSUCCESSFUL. Therefore he will be banned for the next FOUR matches as it's his second red card of the campaign.

Its no wonder nobody has any faith in the FA. We all understand that referees are fallible and will make mistakes on the pitch but how a panel can take the time to review footage and still make such awful decisions is beyond me. Maybe Oastler should have jumped into the challenge two footed with studs showing, seeing as the red at 1:18 in this video got overturned... www.thenationalleague.org.uk/match-info/match-centre/1-3614947/videos/136220
