Back to winning ways with another excellent result...well done to Kabby on his brace. P.S. anyone else find that noisy pop-up 'Locker Room' ad on the main website that repeats every time you change pages irritating!!!

Correction....attendance about 400.
Never 700 there! Apart from that great result and we should have had more if I'm honest.
It's enjoyable watching city at the moment....long may it continue!

Last season the attendance was reported as '727', and I think someone commented it was nowhere near that big: if it was around '400' that is a huge difference. I can never understand the logic (if, indeed, there is any) of clubs reporting overinflated gates. Isn't that, after all, what the taxman bases his percentage on?

I think there are some teams that include all season ticket holders in their attendances no matter of whether they are at the ground or not. I remember when we played Sutton a few years ago they announced 800+ when in reality there were 400, and they said that it is because of season ticket holders. I would presume this is the same for yesterday's attendance as I gather that a lot of Wealdstone fans stayed away.

Tax is based on actual income, not the arbitrary number you put out on Twitter for how many people were in the ground.

So, I wonder, how many 'official' attendances are simply 'arbitrary numbers'? Is the figure just guesswork, or is there some reasoning behind it (e.g. including all season-ticket holders whether or not they are present)? What is the basis for the figure OCFC report for home games?

Is the figure just guesswork, or is there some reasoning behind it (e.g. including all season-ticket holders whether or not they are present)? What is the basis for the figure OCFC report for home games? It's almost become a game to guess how inflated an official attendance will be. Some clubs seem to report quite accurate numbers, others seem to be living in some mad fantasy realm - Concord are probably the worst of the lot for that. If be interested to know if these clubs know that they're doing it or are just buying into a very generous definition of 'attendance'. A good example from City would br a game a season or two ago where there were some youth league trophy presentations before the game and the attendance counted all the people who were at that among the attendance even though very few of them stayed for the game. Technically it was a valid figure - that many people came through the gates and it would have been very tough to work out how many did stay - but it was hardly in the spirit of the idea. Personally, I can't see how the worst offending clubs can honestly believe they're giving an accurate figure. I'd rather not believe that they're counting the real figure and adding X, so if rather believe they're just straight up guessing. Anybody who was at Wealdstone yesterday knows there were nowhere near 700 people there, so surely whoever came up with the figure knows. Sometimes I question the attendance figures we're given as well, but we kinda have to roll with them. I dont quite know the process they go through for counting - they take a tally on the turnstiles but I assume comps etc are counted separately.

A case study of MK Dons might be enlightening...they've been perfecting the art for, well their very short erm, history! 😂
