Probably a fair reflection of the match in the final result as we were outplayed for long periods, though we did have a spell in the second half when it was end to end and we had chances to take the lead. A great save from their keeper prevented a volleyed goal from Jack Self, who had a better second half, as did Reece Fleet, and Kabby was inches wide with what would have been a goal from nothing. It was good to see Zac back in action in the last part of the match, although after his long lay-off he did appear a little off the pace, understandably. Where was Josh Ashby? For me, Joe Oastler was our best player today but Eddie Jones was close behind. Got to admit the Rebels' two late goals were class.

Mark said in his interview that he rang up ill this morning, and so hopefully he'll be back in time for Monday's game, if not for next Saturday

I thought the third goal was dozy goal-keeping, far to slow to realise the danger. If King had moved immediately he would have easily gathered the ball ahead of the Slough forward. The second goal was a stunner though
I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Although Slough had a lot of possession in the second half, and there were a couple of scrambles, and the ball whizzed across the box two or three times, they didn't create any clear cut chances. On the other hand City had two very good chances to take the lead.
Loved the comment after the super finger-tip save over the bar from the Jack Self chance "should have held that, keeper !"

Bit harsh on King to say the third is solely his fault - seemed to me that the defence failed to read the fact that he was on his way back into position and therefore under-reacted when the ball made it's way down than channel.

A few seasons back the 'Cat' used to do that every game. Kings improved tremendously this season, and have to agree it was an uncharacteristic misunderstanding on a very hot spring day.
