While we are in review mode, what about Match of the decade:- To start this off, it will be difficult to separate the Colchester victory from the Tranmere draw - both brilliant. I could add the 7-2 away win at Boston a few years ago for good measure.

Colchester 1-0 will be the best.. 3-3 draw at Tranmere also up there.... Ironically losing 3-2 at Notts County, equalising twice was just pure joy in the away end..
League Wise. Winning 5-0 at Brackley Town, Coming back from 2-0 down away at Truro to win 3-2 for myself. Winning at Stockport County 2-1 with Marlon Jackson late header giving us a sniff of the play offs. Infact just a week later we missed out on the Play Offs but Barcelos scored an overhead kick at Gainsborough in Injury Time.
Don't forget our promotion winning final against Totton in 2012 winning 4-2 to get promoted to Step 2 where we have stayed for last 7 years!
Drama would be the last 5 minutes at Tonbridge from 2-2 to 4-4. Ridiculous emotion.

Great memories, especially the FA Cup games and the play-off final. Bear in mind Totton had beaten us 6-0 early in that season! Colchester would be my favourite.
Last season's Oxon Senior Cup Final was also a dramatic finish, coming back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 - a bit like the Leiston cup match in 2017 with three late goals to clinch it from a losing position.
Most gutting--losing the First Round replay against Redbridge in 2011 after being up at half time in front of nearly 1200 at Marsh Lane. That beats even the last-minute goals conceded at Burton, Notts County and Tranmere, because overall they were still performances to be proud of.

Having been in Yorkshire for over seven years, I've missed out on the cup runs which, I'm fairly sure, would have contained my MotD if I'd seen them. So the game I saw in the last 10 years that raised the adrenaline the most was almost certainly that match against Totton that propelled City into Step 2. It's been quite a roller-coaster decade for OCFC and I'm sure we all hope that it'll become plainer sailing over the next few seasons. At least the Club is still in existence, which is more than can be said for Witney, Bicester and Chipping Norton: historically excellent local clubs. Abingdon Town look in dire trouble again and Wantage had to wait until today for their first points of the season! Generally it appears (admittedly from a distance!) that local football in the area is not in the best of health.

I think we should make it official about what the Match of the Decade is!
Let’s do a poll on the club twitter next week to find out which is best.
I think the two certainties to make it in the poll so far are:
- Totton Play-off final - Colchester FA Cup
That leaves two more spaces for the poll - maybe find a ‘regular’ league match, plenty of suggestions so far such as 7-2 at Boston and 3-2 at Truro to name a couple I saw, but if anyone else has any other suggestions, just comment here before next week and we can decide. I’ll throw one in myself with the 7-1 against Gloucester where we just couldn’t stop scoring screamers!
But keep suggesting cup matches as well, to fill up the fourth spot!

Tranmere for me I think, Colchester was torture for the last 15mins As for league in no particular order - Didcot 4-4 on Boxing Day, Steele Hatrick, sheer excitement and comedy defending. Brackley 5-0, especially Yussefs last goal walking round Turley..literally ended Turley's career. Gloucester 7-1 at Cheltenham town in appauling conditions, one of those very rare days where everything went in.

Yes, that 4-4 Boxing Day draw in 2009 was a really enjoyable one, and kept a crowd of over 500 on its toes...but like you I remember it more for some awful defending by both sides!! The Steele hat-trick at Didcot, though, was the last match of the following season: a comfortable 3-0 win that relegated Didcot Town from the Southern Premier.

Aside from those already mentioned, a few stand out:
3-2 vs Eastleigh in 2013 - my first City game, pure bias.
2-0 vs AFC Telford in 2014 - maybe not the most spectacular game in its own right, but the context is everything. Arguably the toughest game in a run of back-to-back-to-back-to-back games which saved our season.
7-1 vs Gloucester in 2015 - not just a big scoreline some spectacular goals and the best photo of Declan Benjamin ever taken.
3-1 vs Bishop's Stortford in 2015 - 9 men, wrong player sent off, wrongly disallowed goal. Had it all.

Been to most of the games mentioned in above posts (Tranmere away aside)...the 7-1 at Cheltenham is a good shout (thanks for lift home 😁) though for what it meant, think Totton in the playoffs to get promoted just does it personally!

One of the best performances I have seen was the 2-0 win at Farnborough, when Alex Fisher and Dave Savage were outstanding against the Champions elect.
