Good luck to David - it’s good news that Andy and Ross will be there in his back room team as well!
6:20 this morning did seem a bit of a strange time to announce it though..!

Timing and grammar/punctuation of the announcement aside, its an interesting appointment. Apparently he has no shortage of managerial experience, but ~5 months spent in charge of sides isn't much, especially when Andy Ballard will be there as an assistant with about 5 or 6 times that. I guess there must be a lot of perceived value in the time he has spent in other roles, and the club currently seems big on 'philosophy' as a buzzword if nothing else so presumably he's been making the right noises.
I'm mostly just happy we finally have someone firmly in charge and generally some clarity on how things are being structured.

Agree with tc4sc's feelings. There's, to be honest, little of a track-record to really inform what we might expect, but it is good that an appointment has finally been made. Andy Ballard has certainly done an excellent job since October with limited finance, for which we should all be thankful, and I hope he's not too disappointed that his interim-managership was not made permanent.
The posts above mention the odd timing etc. of the announcement on the website, and I have to say that I don't really (as a long-distance, absentee supporter of the club) find the new website very informative about what is happening on the pitch: very few previews of up-coming matches; missing scores and reports; minimalist coverage of the many other teams (U23s, Ladies etc.). I realise that all the new sponsorships etc are extremely important to the Club's continued existence, but the actual football appears to be a little marginalised at the moment when it comes to the 'News'.
