Following on from my last thread about a book on OCFC History...
A book covering the whole of the history from 1884 to the present day would be extremely long (the material I wrote for the old website is 95000+ words!), and I have no idea of how it might be received. So...
I have written, and had run-off at our local photocopying/'bookleting' company, 50 copies of a 48-page booklet that covers the 8 seasons from City's return to senior football in the 1990/91 season up to and including the 1997-98 season when they were relegated from the Isthmian Premier. It seemed a small, obvious, and quite recent period of the Club's history to test the level of interest. It falls roughly into two halves. The first half is the 'written history' covering those seasons, and the second half lists all the matches, scores, scorers, league tables and attendances (for Isthmian matches) during those eight seasons. There are some photographs and illustrations in the first half.
The cost is £6 including 1st class postage in a card-backed envelope.
If you would like a copy, please send me a message via this forum so I can let you know the address to send a cheque to.
If I have more than 50 requests (unlikely?!) I would have to wait until there were enough for an economic second run. In the meantime I will keep a note of the date-order of requests.

Ordered! A little collectors' item for the shelf! Yep, thanks. On its way. Hoping for a few more orders now. By the way, if you do on-line banking, I'm happy to give you the a/c details to pay that way. I don't, however, have a PayPal acc.

Hello Chris
I would be interested in any book that covers 2007 onwards as that is when I started watching City !

Interesting read - a kind of souvenir programme format. Ironically, would appear to those not aware, that it was the humble beginnings of a club from grassroots level, though arguably, OCFC's best years were prior and following the period covered.
Titled The Phoenix Years. Alternative title could be; OCFC...The Years Without Necky! 😂

Titled The Phoenix Years. Alternative title could be; OCFC...The Years Without Necky! 😂 Glad it was of interest. I agree the A5 format is 'programmeish', but it was really the only one I could do that would work for the local photocopier company (at a price I could manage!) Equally, I agree with your comment about the era I chose, but I was struggling to think of a suitably short period of time (to keep the booklet reasonably sized) that might be of interest to a reasonable number of people. To be honest I'm actually more taken by the very early days, but I'm just not sure that there'd be sufficient interest in that period! Clive's comment (above) about which period he'd like any future production to cover made me think that it'd be nice if others made similar suggestions.

Many thanks to those who have bought a copy...I hope it was of some interest.
One reason for covering a relatively recent period (one that many would remember), and for producing a fairly small number, was to 'test the water' before I even considered doing something that covered a much wider time-span with all the material that I had used on the old website.
That only 7 have sold so far rather suggests that, very unfortunately, the interest just isn't there.
If there is anyone still wants a copy of this booklet, then do please let me know.

Chris, So sorry not to reply earlier but please may I have a copy? I suspect the reason you haven't sold many is the very small audience you have on here.
I see you joined the Sports Memories (Oxfordshire) on FB this evening so it would be a good idea to advertise it on there - I know lots of ex City players are on there and I think some would be interested, especially if you have listed the line-ups from the 1970/80s

Chris, the period which would most interest me would be the one immediately following the one you did (say, 1998-2010).
Maybe, when we finally get back to watching matches at CPF, you could have a few copies of Volume 1 on sale in the club shop?
