Thanks to OWHH on the 2nd Round thread for the 'nudge' about stats! So...... Next Tuesday will see City's 90th game in the FA Trophy. We've never met Concord or Truro in the competition before.

Whats the best we have finished in the Trophy Chris? . That's a tricky one...the FA constantly seem to be changing the numbering of the rounds! For a long time 2002/3 season was reckoned as City's best when they won three matches and got as far as Round 3 before losing 2-1 at Stevenage to a late goal - that was the 'last 64' that season. The round next Tuesday is also Round 3, the last 64, but City have only played one game to get there!! Five years ago in 2015/6 City got through three rounds to get to Round 3 (!!) which was the last 16 that year - City lost 1-0 at Woking. So I reckon that one has to be our best season. P.S. Just noticed they got to the last 64 in 1995/6 as well (with wins against Isthmian Premier sides Walton & Hersham and Bromley) - eventually lost to Merthyr Tydfil.

Yes, it was a competition that started in 1969-70 and the status/qualification of entry has varied over the years, AFC Fylde current holders, but Brackley the year before. Not sure whether City qualified for entry during the white house days?

Not sure whether City qualified for entry during the white house days? The competition originally started in 1969/70, and City entered for the first time in 1974/75, the season after the Amateur Cup had been scrapped and replaced by the FA Vase. They won two ties that season, which was about as good as it got during the WH years.

It looks like Truro, who are 2-0 up at Concord with about 10 minutes to play.

As City have progressed through the pyramid, they join the competition at later stages so have less games to play to get to the final rounds !!

I seem to remember that one of our former players went off to play for Haringey, but that was a good 10-15 years ago. Does anyone remember who it was?

Banana skin? We cannot afford to underestimate Haringey if they have a player like Bobson, but we should be able to get the job done!

I think the way things are going, it's going to be back to the video screens. We need clarity on new season ticket holders and getting free video access for league games. As for this fixture we have plenty of time to prepare, I don't worry about banana skins until you slip on one, David prepares like they are top of our league, this side looks confident and strong, Gerrings for another month, would of been nice, but we have a very talented player fit again in that position, of course the worry is with a relatively small squad injuries can become a problem but there is versatility there, and of course when one player has Covid the rest have to isolate, and fixtures are missed.. And unfortunately with this competition you go out, I would have liked us to progressed the proper way, and feel sorry for Truro, it could be us next time. Let's hope the vaccine is swiftly deployed and it works on this new strain.

Just realised the 2019-20 final hasn't been played yet, Concord rangers V Harrogate town That must be a first, if concord win they won't be able to retain it, because they are out of this year's compo.

And Harrogate will not be able to retain it, because of their promotion, the are not eligible to enter.
