Not exactly about the Trophy match, but the OM reports that, with the possibility of some Leagues calling it a day for the season, there may well be quite a lot of players looking for some football soon. OM item HERE.

Would love to see us picking up a couple of faces to bolster the squad, Henry Landers would be a good addition to our group Iām sure

A repeat of the 4-0 victory for City the last time Haringey came to Marsh Lane would be good...but I suspect it'll be a close-run thing!!

Haringey gave it all they could, a rare bit of poor defending, their first goal, after we had a number of near misses, but Bawlings effort was well placed in the corner, good second goal, we looked a bit shocked. But we kept going, I thought he would bring Bancroft & Benyon on at halftime, but after they came back at us to get a third, he made the changes, we looked a different outfit after that, Benyon excellent again and Bancroft superb, I hope Drewe is ok that looked nasty bang he got on his head.
Well last 16 for first time, i want Notts County at home, we owe them one for the FA Cup lucky defeat at theirs š

Well, we knew Haringey would be difficult, given their excellent cup results in recent years, and they looked fresh and direct in the first half, worked hard to press us high up the pitch, and were comfortable blocking our predictable attempts to play through the middle in the first half. After a bright opening ten minutes, City seemed to lose their way and could easily have gone 0-3 down. They were giving the ball away too often. But one Dudzinski save and a great saving tackle near the goal line (by Cartwright?) kept us in it and the goal came at just the right time for us. It looked to me as if someone else (was it Zac?) deflected Oastler's powerful header past Miles.
Agreed with OWHH, second half was very different once the subs came on. It was great to see that City did not let their heads drop but came back so well and it could easily have been 5-2 in the end, or 4-4 --Drewe is making a habit of goalline clearances and Dudzinski made another fine save when we were 3-2 up. All credit to Haringey, but they ran out of steam a bit in the final quarter of the match. We've been saying Bancroft deserves some pitch time, and David Oldfield seems to have heeded that; at any rate, introducing him early paid off, and bringing on Benyon always seems a good move!
Let's hope for a good draw at home in the next round and see how far this fine team can take us. They are certainly on a super run at the moment, and winning even when you are not on your top game is a good habit to get into.

The lack of celebrations at goals ( because of covid) brought back memories, not good ones š But at least we were more professional, and ready for a quick counter attack, surprisingly how many goals are conceeded within five minutes of scoring.

...and the OM report HERE. Quite a long item (thanks to OU's lack of a match?).
