A nice, if battered, programme on the City Twitter just now from the game 97 years ago today at Wycombe. CLICK HERE. Hope we get a better result tonight, though, as we lost that game at Wycombe 5-2!

From the look of it, the Wycombe programme looks as if it was originally pasted into an album. There was a long series of these albums, of which only one (c.1909) survives in a complete form. It would be interesting to know where this item came from. I have two or three Wycombe programmes from the 1950s/60s. We played Wycombe twice in the memorable Cup year of 1901/02, both in the FA Cup and the Amateur Cup.

I must say I preferred Loakes Park, to West Wycombe industrial estate..

I must say I preferred Loakes Park, to West Wycombe industrial estate.. Yes me too: that was a 'proper' old ground. Bit of a slope perhaps, but then I grew up watching Yeovil Town at the old Huish ground!! Just realised that City are on their best unbeaten run since 2009. Not much seems to have been said about that on the various 'channels'? That's probably put the mockers on tonight's game now!!!

Wonderful second-half display from the Hoops tonight. The whole team looking assured and determined. Hungerford could do little to stop us and never looked like piercing a very solid defence. Man of the match for me was Josh Ashby - superb. What a fine run this has been. Just hope we are allowed to continue.

Superb effort all round tonight, a battle early on, we got the lead and then came out second half and defended well, lethal looking on the counter, could of had 5 or 6, fantastic ball from Dudz to Roberts to earn an assist.

Next two games are Dulwich & Slough which looks unlikely, but Braintree a week Saturday could be ok weather permitting, and unless we hear different from the vote. A nice warm up for Notts County!

Glad to see that my mention of the unheralded best unbeaten run for many years (now 9 wins and 2 draws (+ a w/o v Truro)) didn't bring a sudden end to it! Clearly a team/squad has been put together that is high on confidence and ability and not likely to be fazed by any level of opposition. COYHs.
