I held off posting last night as I was seething, and I’m still absolutely livid.
I’ve watched football for 30 years and that was right up there with the worst decision I have ever witnessed.
Miccio runs back, slides and clears the ball from the line, a Chippenham player’s momentum sees him go flying over Miccio on the line and the referee points to the spot, The linesman quite clearly disagreed with the decision. Absolutely awful how an official can make such a poor decision that ultimately costs us a deserved point.
I’ve seen it again on video and am even more baffled by it, once the highlights are out it will be interesting to see everyone’s reaction to it.
On the game as a whole, a good battle between two evenly matched teams on another poor pitch, both sides lacking in the final third but plenty of effort.

Maybe the ref thought it was a testimonial match and it was one of those pre-arranged joke penalties to make sure the player scored.
Can’t understand what he must have seen to think it was a foul, and even worse from the linesman who would have had a great view to realise that it was clearly all ball and none of the man!
