Another Worthing supporter here. Well done yesterday and good luck in the final. You were the better of the teams in the three matches played between us this year; even the one that we won relied on "woodwork" giving a man of the match performance! I'd also like to mention the two City supporters who took time at the end to shake my hand and compliment us on the way we play; this was much appreciated.
I won't get into the debate about segregation (mainly because I don't have the answers) but do know that you would have to segregate every week in the National League (or, at least, it is recommended that you do, meaning that the club is liable if they don't and something goes wrong). Regarding the earlier comment about whether people would be able to see the action in a bigger crowd, I have one comment from yesterday. Sitting in the stand it was not possible to see one goalmouth throughout the match because a steward controlling the barriers in the stand was standing in the No Standing area (thereby proving why the signs are there!).

Borehamwood have been amazing, no question. They are the current Oxford City of Step 1. But they don't have United on their doorstep, and even their home attendance average is three times ours. Can we really do that next season, or will it take longer to build? Boreham Wood average attendance in their first season in the national League was 544. They have since had average attendance of 477, 655, 718, 724, 62 (COVID hit season), 1058, 1180. So they have took time to build their fanbase. Lots of new builds going up around Oxford that the marketing team could tap into and with a promotion to the national League I'm sure we would get way more than an average of 477 in our first season.

It's not how many fans you have, but how many in comparison with other teams in your league that counts. Attendances in most places have gone up significantly since COVID. Many Southern League teams now have more fans than City. Borehamwood have punched above their weight for years, but in those early seasons I think they were not as far below the average as 544 would be now. According to Football Web Pages the average for the league this season is around 3300. They had 1185 this season, Gateshead 1218, City 437. A rough comparison would be United going up to play in the Premiership with their current stadium and fanbase (ignoring the outliers Bournemouth, who also punch above their weight).

I think City would be fine in the national League as would Brackley and will likely attract more fans from the local community especially if the club market the kids in schools etc. Some League 2 clubs don't average 3300 the national League has just a very high average due to Wrexham and Notts county. The two clubs relegated aren't as well supported as the 2 that are going up. The 4g pitch can remain in the national League so all the revenue from that will continue and sponsorship, TV money all increases. I'm a United fan but I've started coming to City this season when they've been away or not playing, much prefer the set up at City and I will more than likely get a season ticket next season along with my 2 sons.

Maybe influenced by the travelling support from Wrexham and Notts County, but Boreham Wood and Gateshead were the only National League sides not to have a crowd over 3,000. The lowest average crowd was Boreham Wood on 1,185.
As mentioned early in the thread, I'm sure how 3,000 would fit into our ground, many would not be able to see the whole pitch.

Looking at the St Albans forum, it looks like quite a few of their supporters have bought tickets in the home end.
I hope there isn't any trouble............

Maybe City will give me a seat in the press-box..... A good idea, Clive: I bet they've saved a seat for the Oxford Mail! Anyway, , I hope you find a way to get to see it, I'll probably have to use Twitter as we don't have BT TV.

Do the Oxford Mail even know where City play?
