Any chance the programme for next season, will be different, its been the same for many years and could do with a change, in my opinion.. Some clubs have much better and colour programme, i know we are not the worst, but surely we could upgrade or at least change the style and layout.
Thanks,
Anon

Chippenham Town's prog was excellent for this league...photos..bit of colour..news from ten years ago features, ...and importantly..attendances given. God knows why City stopped printing those!

Here are a few suggestions
1. Colour, there seems to be only colour on the adverts?
2. Pherhaps a new section for a fan's point of view., so match reports, views on the team, experiences (away days), re-living there best match.
3. When we play a team, why not also have a match report from when we played them before, i know we have the history section on who we played on that datee, but could add this in aswell
Also we could try and start a new campaign to attract more fans to the club, i know the club did this last season and found it hard to find more fans, but we could try and work together on doing this again..

Please remember that the programme takes a lot of time currently to put together, and all changes need to be do-able....
Please think about this when suggesting additions/changes.

I agree with Anon, could do with a spice up.. my suggestions.
1. invest in Larger stables to hold it together, the amount of times its fallen apart even before the end of a game has been quite impressive.
2. Make a note on the first page (Line-ups page) that the players on the board are listed as the numbers on there shirts (1. Joe White 2, James Clarke 3. Wayne Blossom etc)....I will now try for next season to put the right numbers in the program but I didn't even realize the link until someone told me.
3. on the same token maybe make a note, mainly for the benefit of away fans that we do indeed have a board showing line-ups pre-match and where it is located (again on the line-ups page) (this is something that annoys me when I go to away games as its not clear where or if they have the pre-match lines-ups around)
4. if last season is anything to go by then for us this is pointless, but I have my fingers and toes crossed that this season we won't go through so many players, that said, I do like the player photos w/ profiles quite afew other clubs are introducing to there programs, again gives me an idea who the heck im looking out for....even if we can't viably do it in our own program it would be nice to have them available to send to other clubs to add to theirs on an away match day if they so wish.
5. more images + colour - general thing really, maybe images to accompany Match reports and the history pages particularly?

Several interesting suggestions above for additions/changes to the programmes... There are some very colourful/glossy programmes around, but I wonder what they cost to produce? Perhaps they are at Clubs with a 'special relationship' with a local printer? Would supporters be prepared to pay more for a glossy programme to fund the extra cost? I have no idea whether OCFC breaks even, or makes a profit or loss, on the present in-house production, but would a cosmetic make-over necessarily improve income? As Laura says above, all changes need to be "do-able", in terms of both cost and time. Having provided history and statistics items, as well as occasional match reports, for 1st XI and Nomads programmes for four or five seasons now, I'm sure it's true to say that if there are supporters who would like to provide "fans' views" items etc for the programmes, then Colin would be more than pleased to receive them. As the local 'anorak', I like the idea of match reports from when we played particular teams in the past, and visiting supporters might like that one as well - I'll see what I can do! I gather that there very well may be changes afoot for the programme for next season, so now probably is a good time for workable suggestions - and item contributions. (Oh, and a P.S. to nptonexile. the attendances have been on the Fixtures & Results page of 1st XI and Nomads programmes throughout the season.)

Just started a thread on this subject on the zamarettopremierfans.myfanforum.org/about425.htmlWill be interesting to see what the away point of view is. I don't think we are at a stage where glossy is the answer, unless if we are to have color pictures(or pictures at all) we must then also have glossy....I don't know to much about paper printing. Just off the bat our attendance doesn't justify the increased cost (which there is sure to be) to produce a program of that nature...maybe Sharon could shed some light on how many programs we tend to sell per game? Personally I would pay more I think for a better quality program...as long as the entrance fee doesn't go up again with it . Also I like the idea of a match report of previous meeting, with any particular team if there is one available. Oh yeah and the other thing, please please please put the league table either at the back, maybe next page in from the fixtures or on the first few pages ofter the Chairman's/Mangers notes as they were a real bugger to find last season, especially when someone came up and said where are 'they' in the league?

Sorry, off the top of my head, I can't shed any light on how many we sell per game (I know I should know!). As mentioned above, I think the main issue would be cost - if we were to produce full colour (personally I quite like that the colour is simply blue and white!) there would obviously have to be a price increase (difficult one as I know some supporters have said £1.50 is quite cheap and others have said it was expensive!). I know that changes are being made to the programme (and the staple issue is being addressed!) for next season and when I am down later this week, I will pass on the comments here and see if I can find out what is being planned. Hedges - with regard to your comment about increase in entrance fee, I can confirm that gates prices are remaining as for the 2010/11 season. ;D Cheers Sharon

Apologies for the delayed response but I can confirm all of the comments above have been passed on. I am not allowed to say too much at the moment but I have seen a copy of the sort of programme proposed for next season and must say I was very impressed and think it looks very good!!

At the pre-season friendlies, we will be having a "mini" version of our new programme for the 2011/12 season so that you can get a taste of what to expect!

Just seen a copy of the new programme (v Northampton) - looks very impressive indeed: colour and photos. The section on the history of Northampton Town was a tad difficult to read...especially after a few beers! ;D

Could we have the statistics page with appearances and goals scored ?

Missing Appearances/Scorers list seems to have been an oversight by the compilers at the printers - it should be back for the next game.

First visit of the season today to watch Oxford city. Was well impressed with how the development is coming along and also impressed with this seasons matchday programme.excellent value for money and very professional I have seen the debate above, and being involved with another local club, just wondered how much the club have to pay per issue if its not too rude to ask
