The Vets completed the treble on Wednesday & maintained their 100% win record as the over 40's beat Chinnor in the final on penalties at Abingdon Town. City went into half-time 1-0 up thanks to an own goal as the unfortunate Chinnor defender turned in Paul Spittle's teasing cross. Chinnor equalised with virtually the last game to take the game into extra-time. City had numerous chances to win the game in extra time, put couldn't get that crucial goal. It was fitting that after being named as players player of the season & Managers player of the season before the game, that Carl Fisher would end up the hero after saving 2 out of Chinnor's 4 penalties. Ronnie Williams, Shaun Pearce, Simon Pagano & Wayne Holden all converted their spot kicks to give City a 4-2 win.
FINAL-SCORE: Chinnor 1 Oxford City 1 AET (City win 4-2 0n pens)
TEAM: Carl Fisher, Paul Creed, Shaun Pearce, Julian Dark, Andy Cooper, Justin Lee, Ronnie Williams, Paul Kimber, Wayne Holden, Paul Spittle, Dave Southam. Subs; Robert Tutton, Simon Pagano, Leigh Bastable
