City Vets continued their impressive home form at CPF with a resounding 9 - 0 victory at home to Chippy last night in front of a big crowd (37 first half, 14 2nd).
Despite missing a few legends City still could call on the quality of old boy Colin Fleet and the experience of Paul 'Joey' Creed who looked fresh out of the cocoon movie on the left wing!!
City started brightly and were rewarded after 5 minutes when the away keeper auditioned for Danny Baker's Xmas DVD and an OG started the rout. Not to be outdone Fleety then produced a moment of magic with a swan dive followed by a diving header off the deck when dealing with an awkward back pass.
The goals flowed freely throughout the first half as City played some crisp passing football - Stewy Parsons (15), Fraser (25), Stewy P (30) and Fraser (35) made it 5 - 0 at half time. The only real worry for young Kenny at half time was the form of his captain Wayne Holder who somehow managed to miss from 6 yards out (we've found the ball mate so no worries).
City started strongly in the 2nd half and within ten minutes of the restart Fraser Gills and Stew parsons had completed their hat-tricks, the latter with an early contender for goal of the season!! Andy Martin got the goal he deserved on the hour mark and our no. 9 (Holden) calmly slotted home with ten minutes left on the clock.
City couldn't quite complete the perfect ten but all in all a great result, and in young Kenny they may have something special on their hands.
Man of the Match; Stewart Parsons
