A truly magnificent performance: I was on the edge of my computer chair! Just the sort of positive to take down the A 34 next week.

And for those several people who asked... The last time two players got hat-tricks in the same game for City was in the FA Cup at Shoreham in 2000 when Richard Peirson got three and Danny Wise (coming on as a sub) got five. (In the league it was back in 1992 when Darren McNamara and Paul Spittle scored three apiece in the 8-0 demolition of Pirton in the SML.)

Thanks, Chris--I was wondering. Never happened in a match I was watching before. Thanks, too, for your fine report. I thought we struck the woodwork five times--with someone (Barcelos?) hitting the foot of a post near the end--plus Steele had another goal disallowed. All that, and the Swindon keeper had a decent match--that fine double save in the first half followed by a good stop with his legs in the second when Felipe was one-on-one.
All in all, this was a super display by City, though we won't find a weaker opposition this season than Swindon were today--and we looked set for a big win even before the sending off, though undoubtedly that compounded Marine's problems. With others in the leading pack all dropping points today, City are back to second with a game in hand. I have to pinch myself when I look at the league table. It may flatter us slightly, as many of our matches so far have been against teams in the lower half, but Mike Ford said you don't have much idea how the league will shape up until twelve matches are past and we're almost there. We have had a great start--let's hope we can keep it going, and that Martin, Mooney, Ashton and even Bell can return to fitness soon to keep up the competition for places in this team.

Stunning Performance. no player gave an inch, the tempo was brilliant, fast quick on the ground passing. A joy to behold at times.
Everyone played exceptionally well, Standout performances particularly Bash and Steele (duh!), Pondy, Barcelos and Lyon.
Same style of football next week please lads!

PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE GAME YESTERDAY!
I couldn't make it and I'm getting more and more gutted that I couldn't make it!
