No sorry, also couldn't make it to the 7-1 demolition of Swindon (sounds so much better without Supermarine! ;D)..enjoying the delights of losing at home to Crawley in front of the Sky cameras, but... 182 is pretty shocking an attendance, especially given City's recent results and League position. Over on the other side of the city, United were getting over 9000 (1600 from Bristol mind!). Given this was a United promo drive 'fans day' kind of initiative..shouldn't City give consideration to possible Sunday fixtures eg? Several times this season, City's games have clashed with Oxford United's home game. Just a thought!

Although in principle it sounds good but there are so many factors to be thrown in. City have almost 40 different teams which means you move one game it will have a potential knock on effect on numerous teams. The ladies play Sunday afternoons and the first team play on the main pitch.
Of course it's the away team who would need to agree to it too and I'm not sure what they would think.
In the past there Friday nights have been looked at but again without the away team (and the League) agreeing you're stuck.
Yes great idea but I think realistically it would be difficult for it to happen.

Personally I can only make games on Saturday - lunchtime kick-offs to avoid the clash with Oxford United would be fine with me if everyone can agree to it !

Historically we've always had good attendances for games played on Friday nights, might be worth thinking about for a couple of fixtures

Certainly the last time (I think) it was done for several fixtures (when we first went back up to the Isthmian Premier in the late 1990s) there was a significant rise in numbers. But it is tricky to get other sides to agree I suspect. Playing on Sundays would produce something of a logistical nightmare with all the other sides that play that day.

Going back a few years City coordinated their fixture with Utd so they played on alternate Saturdays. I suppose in this day and age it is not possible, although aren't Utd fixtures out well ahead of Citys?
How many people do you think we lose from the gate at City when Utd are at home on the same day: less than 50, more than 50, up to 100, more than 100?
There area few Utd supportes in my works saying they might start coming along after Citys good start...Glory supporters...but they all help pay the bills!

I would say probably around 50 or so extra when United have a long distance away game at the same time City is at home.
It is noticeable thats for sure and there are a number of regulars at city who have season tickets for both clubs and obviously if United is playing at home on the same day as city those supporters will, due to cost/investment go to United.
The other 'blur' factor of any recent figures is alot of supporters have turned there back after our struggles last season, we're only now getting them back slowly and this is another reason why saturday is a massive game as the coverage of taking a scalp from the league above following our 7-1 victory against Swindow will only help to suggest that we have now turned a corner and are on the up.
Interestingly the game against Didcot 2 seasons ago shows the potential of drawing Uniteds supporters. Uniteds game was called off at the last minute due to a section of frozen pitch, a large number of United supporters piled down to Didcot to watch our game so there's clearly some interest in what we are doing.

In Isthmian League days (1960s) there was an arrangement to alternate homes and aways with Oxford United, but this lapsed many years ago. I think that the League fixture organisers will alternate (where they can) for BS Premier clubs, but probably not for North/South or Step 3. It was interesting to read in the NLP a few weeks ago that the League/Conference fixture compilation is too complicated for a computer and one chap does nearly all the work!

Working in IT I can fully understand that. Computers lack one main thing - COMMON SENSE! Computers can only be described as Fast, Accurate and STUPID.

Hi .there must be a few like me .I'm a United season ticket holder and watch some games at City when United away and always follow City's results...Friday night games to me seems to be answer as many who follow grass roots football have children playing sunday...I would have thought it worthwhile picking a game to promote if on a saturday when united away or moving one to a Friday and doing same...especially with the team flying... when is 4th qualifying round game btw?
