Deeply saddened and shocked to hear the sad news of Ian Rundle's death, a genuinely lovely guy and a member of the Oxford City family, he always had time for a chat on the terrace.
My thoughts and condolences go to Ian's family and friends

Can only echo what Padz has said.
A big loss to the City family and will be missed on the Committee too. Always had a chuckle at Committee meetings when Ian was there.

I too was very saddened last night when I learned this news. Ian was the City Manager who promoted me to the first team when I was still a Youth player and gave others of us a chance when other managers would have considered us too young. He'd never talk a great deal and was often regarded as a very dry character, but if you got a simple 'Well Done' from him you knew that you'd had a very good game. And if you'd had a good game he'd tell you what you could have done better, he knew how to keep your feet on the ground... When I returned to play for City and Ian was on the Committee it was always him that I'd look to for achnowledgement after matches and it was still pleasing to have him watching and supporting our veterans matches. He will be missed and it is a great loss to the club.

Lost my best friend yesterday.
Him and Mask gave me my first big break into football management and the pair of them pretty much educated me in coaching/management.
As you say Jules he was a quiet but hard man, as many who played against him (even on a sunday morning for the Arbour) will testify.
A true gentlemen and a big loss to local football.

It was a real shock to hear this news. Condolences to Ian's family and all at City (particularly those who knew him well). He was a lovely person with a wonderfully dry sense of humour and was very modest, it was a great pleasure to know him and work with him on the committee.

Could not believe this when I heard yesterday, a true gent and one of the genuine good guys, always had time for a chat and a laugh around the club and always wanted to know how you were getting on either playing, coaching or just how the wife was, he worked with my wife and kindly drove one of our wedding cars 17 years ago, which we never forgot. Condolences to Ian's family.
Robert, Rachel and Jack Tutton.
