Barwell at home on Saturday, easily the worst side I've seen this season but form and position indicates they've improved alot, could do with 3 Pts keep in touch

Probably not surprisingly I think Draw...
On the bright side the pessimistic predictions of 3-0 thrashing to Chippy didn't come true so hopefully same again!
Seriously though, I think we'll keep Barwell at bay, they will fancy there chances and no doubt the manager will push into his players that fact we have off-the-field issues, but we certainly have the defense to keep them and just about any other team in this league out.
Its just we're blunt up top....(as of writing)

Barwell have vastly improved since we were up at Kirkby Rd earlier in the season. Was going to this, as the loan Barwell fan coming is a mate. However, with him now coming on the team bus - no pub crawl around Oxford..and City's ott (imo) treatment of Steele...dropping it! Southend at Sixfields I'm afraid!

Basham, Woodley(injured), Fisher(unavailable), Barcelos(suspended) & I think Lyonsy is also suspended?
We will surely give Conor Mcdonagh a chance, perhaps with Pondy playing just in behind him, Liam & Ballard in the centre, Dec right, Marvin left, clarkey RB, learoyd LB, Bloss & Motty CB

Pitch inspection at 11.30 - very hard at present apparently.

very dodgy decision - city pulled a fast one with no forwards - typical ford. how convenient !

The decision was nothing to do with City or Mike Ford. Volunteers had been at the ground all morning preparing for the match as normal. The decision was made by the referee following a pitch inspection at 11.30.

it would have looked suspicious if we were the only match off, however Stourbridge v Hemel isalso off due to frozen pitch. So nothing to see here.

On a personal note, id have loved to have this game go ahead, Perfect opportunity for Fordy to use and market the full resources the club has, rather than panic loan/get a mediocre striker. Obviously, I mean calling on some of the Nomads to fill in the holes, now to be perfectly honest, if those players don't get an opportunity now, they never will, because in there league they are scoring for fun and generally its the same names scoring the majority of the goals....which says to me, they are better players than that league suggests. Now there is a gulf in class between the Hellenic league and the premier and not saying they would all be bale to handle the physical nature of the premier (which is the major difference) but at this point in time, with our squad decimated for various reasons, surly, now would be the time to give them that shot and allow them to show to the fans and Mike himself what they can do with an extended run in the team. Oviously, however its a big decision, as you wouldn't want to undo Merrits fine work with the Nomads by giving his best players false hope then drop them when it goes terribly wrong and we lose 3 on the trot....which would probably cost the Nomads there opportunity for promotion as well. and I for one admit im a stereotypical fickle football fan and if we did lose 3 on the trot (which would probably at this stage, end our season of hope for a play-off spot) with the Nomads playing, id be the first to say 'right get rid, get some players in damn it'.....good job I am not the manager then

Most (all?) Nomads' players have dual-registration - (and vice versa?)
