Oxford City v Barwell will now take place this Tuesday evening (17/01/12) (k.o. 7.45) - apparently depending on the availability of suitable officials at short(ish) notice.

pretty solid first thing this morning , I think a pitch inspection is planned for 4/4:30 to allow Barwell time to travel so news of it being on or off will be posted here and on the homepage

We have loaned striker Oliver Taylor from Wycombe and GK coach Martin Brennan as Jason is apparently injured

After travelling for 2 hours, when we arrived it was obvious that the pitch last night was unfit for play, I then learn't that the secretary of Oxford City made the decision to deem the pitch fit and not an official referee, I think he has some explaining to do No bloody way could that pitch have passed inspection at 3pm
Not one player was happy with the conditions of that pitch it was lethal and like playing on concrete.
Thought has to be given to the players surely on occassions like this we all have to work and many do not get paid for time off work, nor can we afford to travel for 2 hours for a match that obviously would not be finished.
Oxford Officials owe a few apologies, non less to their own players who suffered as a result of this decision, and to use for wasting our time and money. The ref was bloody rubbish which is why he probably allowed the match to proceed, he thought we had travelled for 2 hours and should try to play. We would rather have travelled back than play on that death trap.

Having said all that, coming from Hinckley originally and knowing a couple of Barwell fans who travelled down..they told me that they didn't leave Barwell till 6.10pm - arriving at OCFC at 7.15pm. All saying that it wasn't quite the Carlisle-esque journey..but yes, game too hastily re-arranged!

Smacks of City trying to get suspended players available for the game at Leamington. Totally backfired as we have now probably lost another to injury for a few weeks. Someone needs to apologise to both fans and players, but this is a community club that only does things like that when its to their advantage!!!

If it wasn't for all the Conspiracy Theories on here, the forum would really be rather quiet at the moment.
