Well here we go, firstly happy new year to all and congratulations to the gaffer on the birth of the beautifull Miya, also to superfan, sub, reporter and all round good bloke Leigh Bastable on the birth of Archie,
Whilst were talking about archie i'd like to apologise on his behalf, he was so excited about watching his first game of football that he shat himself as i was getting in the car and this led to me being 10 minutes late!
According to the boss I didnt miss a lot and when I got there it seemed to be a competition between sharks and spits to see who could do the worst pass/flick with the outside of there right boot, and long range efforts from jules. but city started settling down and Andy Martin found the goalie in inspired form and when he did beat him there was a defender on the line to clear it. Just when it looked like the half might end goal-less martin slotted in to break the deadlock.

Archie- asleep
The boss rung the changes and city started the 2nd half a lot brighter, Gills carrying on from where he left off last year by missing 3 sitters in 10 minutes! grossy then showed what a good friend he is by missing from 1 yard to take some pressure off the now beleagured jills. Eventually city got the 2nd through Pearce after good work down the right from sharkey,
Up to this stage Sid had been an onlooker but bored with this he decided to make things interesting, and started of by letting the ball hit the underside of the bar only to redeem himself by pulling of a point blank save from the rebound, city then went 3 up with a shot from Merritt that took a wicked deflection, Kimber was visible relieved at this and even sent on hilden who was immediately in the action producing one moment of magic in the box that was ruined when he took a dive with no-one within 15 yards of him,
Milton then pulled one back and were playing all the football now and should have scored again but paul weller drilled wide when well placed, city scored a 4th against the run of play when a shot from gills bobbled over the keeper but probably just what the lad needed, the last bit of action came from the penalty spot as sholden capped off a poor night personally when he chipped the penalty onto the bar.
all in all a professional performance but boss kimber will have to improve things if he wants to retain the title
