City entertain their friends from Goring this evening and will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run against Hadlee, Kershaw et al.. The gaffa is still without the long term absentee's Felix Sharkey & Just in Lee and add Mark Orlando (unfortunately who hasn't finished Sunday's half marathon yet), Andy Copper (who had a nasty mishap with some carpet gripper) and Paul Spittle who has only just returned from his Autumn training camp in Tenerife!! City welcome back Cords Tutton (Can tell were playing at home!!) and Paul Creed who has impressed the boss with his never say die attitude at training (Start your stretching early son). Other than that City are unchanged from their 'battle under the chimneys' last week!! City from (subject to the phone beeping anytime soon); Rocky, Dark, Tutton, Grossman, Southam, Dooorey, Sherbert, Clark, Martin, Holden, Pearce, Creed, Maciak, Parsons, Warmington Dont forget your fivers boys!!

City Vets have suffered the same fate as the national team last night and have had their game called off this evening!!
A heavy downpour last night and with no staff available to operate the roof, the club have reluctantly called the game off.
Unlike the Polish FA, the club have taken the sensible view to call the game off early to avoid complications with those travelling to the game... As far as we know only Bas and Smiler are currently on the road and thoroughly annoyed they took a half day at work!!
With regard to the playing staff only Paul Creed and Dave Southam have voice their frustration, with both set to make their first starts of the season!!!
As they say in France 'say la vie' Rodney and hopefully the pitch has recovered in time for next Weds..God help us in the winter I hear you all say!!

In light of the cancellation , both team managers were offered to play the game tomorrow at 4 o'clock .... Goring's reply was we've got a 80s Reunion booked in at the Dog and Whistle in Checkendon and cant raise a team .... City's reply was at 4 o'clock we have Rory's tea and cakes , follwed by Bingo !!! and were not missing that (roll over £5 ) .... FIFA have been informed , and are sending the ref from last night to see if the ball can bounce in a puddle ... watch this space !!!!
