Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the boys who chipped in with some money to make up for the mystery of the Bamptongate scandal.
It reminds you why you make the effort to get involved and that 99% of the boys are good honest lads.
Anyway time to put that one to bed now!!
City Vets extended their lead at the top of the table with a solid victory over the boys from Bampton with two goals from Andy Martin.. Match report to follow.

Last night City came through a tough test against a strong bampton side.
boss simber was hit with some late pull-outs but he and the sizeable crowd were bolstered by the news that Bastable was back between the sticks.
City started strongly and perce and peesons soon showed that holden wont be missed! bampton were starting to get into the game now and only a couple of smart saves from bastaval kept the game level, city took the lead after a fine move was finished smartly by merlin, it was all city deserved and they soon doubled there lead when once again marvin finished a neat move.
the game was heading for half-time when a long range shot from the bampton winger was acrobatically saved by rastabull, the shot had dip and swerve and he had to be at his best to keep it out. so city went into the break 2 up
the second half started with city laying seige to the bampton goal but they couldnt find the killer touch and the game slowed to a midfield battle, martian hit the post after an unbelievable piece of skill from mgaic and spottle went close with a left foot pile-driver, this was to be his last action of the night and he somehow managed to get injured walking off,
the last 10 minutes were played out and city recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory but will face sterner tests in the coming weeks and will have to be a lot better to come through them unscathed.

Just thought ill tell you , i was walking my dog , yesterday afternoon , across the hallow turf at CPF . when he decided ,(just in side the six yard box ,clubhouse end) to have a number two .... I must say it was a very runny one.. of which, i couldn't be picked up . So i think you better get Roy Burton/bast able to make sure he's had a tetanus in the last five years .. sounds to me he slipped on it .....

I was in the area last night and I decided to take in a game, I was treated to one of the finest displays of keeping ive seen in a long time. His agility, positioning, communication and bravery were on a different level, and the distrubution of the fella was amazing to be honest he was probably the best passer on the park as well.
I was just about to ring mancini when I saw something that sickened me, the ball was crossed in and was heading straight to him when for some reason he jumped in the air and tried to save it like that columbian fella a few years back. I soon realised that that was why he was still playing at this level and not a pro. shame really because hes got it.
mind you, later on a bloke went to shoot and kicked the ground first so that cheared me up

We've been working hard in training Leigh Bovril and I so I was pleased to hear that paid off with a clean sheet on Wednesday night.
Couldn't make the game as I was watching videos of my exploits for Scotland.

Was at the game the other night, couldn't agree more, what a keeper, even throwing it out left handed, just think how good he would be if he had his own boots and gloves.
