Re Nick Townsend, yes, he went to school at Alderbrook School in the centre of Solihull and is 18 years old.Knowing our luck, he is bound to have a blinder against us today!

When Gary Birch Fell The Earth moved for the ref they fell in love the rest is history, no advantage played when a tap in was in order How on earth do you bring play back after you have already gestured with your hands that advantage is being played, unless you are a complete embarrassment to all referees!

No, he didn't throw it though he may have been caught a bit off his line for your second goal--I thought he did well overall. We lost because we didn't take our chances.

Yes, that was a definite mistake by the ref, who was being assessed. If we'd come back to 1-2 before the break I think we might have won. As it was, the post was the nearest we came to an equaliser. We actually played quite well, especially second half, but were inept in and around the six yard box.

How did you think the gk played Well having his first game for us statto against the place he had grown up was always going to be dificult first half he looked like a goalkeeper who was getting to know his defence which he has to do quickly as we have a busy time ahead, second half he grew in confidence and made some good stops for me the best moment for him was his punch clearance from a corner which was hit so hard it ended up in your half, he has a diferent style to our other keepers who liked to hold the ball then clear, he has been trained in the Birmingham City style clear quick and deep and to cause instant pressure on the oppositions defence, I think our team will have to adapt to that or he will have to learn to mix it as at this level it usually comes straight back putting us under instant pressure, however the lad looks decent and can only improve, and learn from his mistakes quickly I hope!

Firstly a definate foul outside the area, the ref seeing City were in possession and threatening signaled to both linos that advantage was being played (both linos then moved down to the corner flags respectivly) then seeing the SoliHull defence had failed to act quick enough and two city forwards were about to play a one two with the goalie he blows up for the initial foul?

At the time I thought both our players were offside so I was quite pleased the ref gave us a freekick as I was expecting Solihull to get one instead. However, I must admit I was not looking at what the officials were doing in terms of signals. I did hear quite a lot of comments towards the ref immediately after this incident, but as I felt some earlier comments on his less controversial decisions were (how should I put it?) rather lacking in objectivity I did not take too much notice of what was being said about this particular incident. I agree the ref did make some questionable decisions during the game but he was getting abuse even when he got them right (in my opinion, anyway). If the City players were not offside as I thought then I agree that was a shocking decision. The City players did not seem to object much to his decision, as I recall. I would need to see it again to be certain, but I suspect there is no video that would help. Not that it makes any difference now, anyway. Overall I thought Solihull deserved to be in front at half time, but we played a lot better in the second half and should have got a draw. We should really have done better with some of the second half chances we had, but Solihull did defend quite well. That shot across the goal that hit the post was struck really well (can't remember who by) and deserved a goal. However, I am sure they can point to chances they missed as well.
