I see there's going to be a state-of-the-art new stadium in a couple of years - where's that going to be then? And OCFC are now headquartered in South Florida! wmxgroup.com/Is any of this stuff actually being relayed to City fans and are they really not in the slightest bit bothered by it all? Why isn't this stuff all over the website and released to the local (Oxford!!) press? I'm not posting this to make mischief, I'm genuinely concerned that City are being taken for a ride and if it's anything like the journey Kassam took United on then it can only end in tears. At least the American can't get his hands on the ground. Can he?

I fear he will be using the Oxford City FC name in the US to collect advance fees from young hopefuls for some sort of Soccer Camp / promise of trials with English professional clubs that will never materialise. It wouldn't be the first scam of this nature.

Has he signed some kind of deal with OCFC that allows him to use their badge/logo and if not shouldn't the club be doing something to protect their image?

Why do I get the feeling this will NOT end smoothly.
It's like Aldershot 1989 all over again.

It would be nice if the club said something. How many lies does this guy have to post on his own web pages before City explain why he's been involved?

The club really need to release a statement about this, as I am sure the actions of the new 'President' are illegal.
It looks as if he is trying to copy what the former American owner of Newport County did in the 1980s and try and make money off of a football club in the UK.
Most Americans know jack about our game, and if they see somebody down as a football club owner then it's easy to convince the gullible over there that he is in charge of a big club like Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man United etc. In reality we are light years away from ever competing with these clubs.
To quote one person on Kempster's forum 'Oxford City are going to get f'ed in the a***.'

There's an article in today's Oxford Mail outlining our President's future plans. yes in tne buisness section of the paper on page 9. not online yet probably tomorrow. somèthing about a new world class website to attract sponsors. He says he has not yet opened talks with oxford city council about any future plans for building ground improvement. finally he was keeping an eye on the OCCF which he said although city lost 4-2, the took United to extra time. which apparently shows city are not far away. most of the other stuff is what he has already stated.

Article business section oxford mail . Heading: Tycoon Vows to take Hoops into big League May 14 2013.
By Andrew Smith Business editor:
The new president of Oxford City F C has pledged to improve facilities as the club builds on success. Florida based finance guru Thomas Guerriero is determined to accelerate the 'Hoops' towards fully fledged League status, starting with promotion from the Blue Square Bet North League next season. And he is kicking off his revolution with a ' world class' new website designed not only to appeal to fans but Potential investors and partners Internationally. It will be launched in a matter of weeks. Mr Guerriero told the Oxford Mail : 'we will improve the stadium in line with anticipated success on the pitch. As we progress and get promoted the facilities and the ground will be improved accordingly.' He admitted he had not yet opened talks with oxford city council, which owns the Court Place Farm ground, and would wait until something was firmly in the pipeline. But he added ' In the next two to three weeks you will see a world class new website launched which will set the tone for our vision. It will give us the capability of doing what we want to do such as talking to sponsors and people who want to get involved.' Mr Guerriero said he was ' closely monitoring ' Wednesdays Oxfordshire Senior Cup Final when City pushed Oxford United into extra time before eventually losing 4-2 He said "It would have been nice to get a victory but it shows how close we are and how quickly we can proceed. "That is why we are so excited. By executing our strategic plan we feel confident promotion will be in our sights along with the advancement of better facilities.' Mr Guerriero 36, a Wall Street tycoon who now runs investment advisors WMX Holdings, swept into the club last month and quickly outlined his plan to transform its fortunes. Since then he says he has been working "Morning to night" on City business. "Our goal is to assist at every single level, from sponsorship to identifying players. The product on the pitch is going to be improved year after year and the business side will be improved dramatically." He said. 'I feel this could be a major legacy. People will look back on this and see one of the biggest Impact stories of all time in English football. 'I'm very excited and looking forward to it."

Oh for crying out loud: he's just sent them another press release and the Business Editor has just taken loads of quotes from it. It's not an interview. If it was an interview you'd think Mr Smith would have asked some pertinent questions wouldn't you? Why aren't the Oxford Mail getting a grip on this story? And, more to the point, why aren't the club hierachy getting a grip on it too?

I feel sorry for the players and manager. City have a team well worth watching. But I can't say I would be willing to pay out any money that might benefit this clown

As, indeed I pointed out towards the top of the page. The other page about the club rather more modestly states that it's "... one of the oldest and most historic club's in the county": which is fair comment. Though unfortunately the Grocers' Apostrophe remains uncorrected! There are plenty of claimants for oldest in the World...and it's certainly not OCFC, nor Notts County. Difficult to prove one way or another but Sheffield AFC probably has the best claim outside schools and universities.

It really is time for the management committee of the REAL OCFC to speak out and explain exactly what is going on here. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious. Laughing stock!

Which website do you mean? Do you mean yhe original OCFC website with the bullshit press release written by the Yank and swallowed hook line and sinker by the Ox Mail/Times without a hint of investigation re his validity?
Or do you mean the Yank's OCFC website which almost a straight lift of the OCFC site but with unfeasibly expensive sponsorship deals for tens of thousands of US dollars and the offer of playing trials for players who have to pay cash up front before they get full details (and bring your own food and drink!).
You're seriously not worried?
