Any news on the fancy dress on this? I determined to get an animal suit but don't want to be the only one who does it and look like a tit!

S**t result last night, proper downer for this Saturdays game. Still, train leaves at 11am, get into Brum at 12.30, over to Stourbridge for 1.15, no qualms. To many bevs.

No fancy dress. Gonna look like mugs if we did.
Maybe a bit of blue and silver tinsle if we can get it?
So many bevs will be consumed on this trip.

any chance of the game getting called off?

doubt it, we are in a ridge of high pressure until mid-way through tomorrow, should be dry but chilly. They played on Saturday and were away on Tuesday so I doubt the pitch has been played on since and will have had time to recover from any previous damage/waterlogging.

Are you a weatherman John?! Sounds like you could do the job for the beeb!

Surely there's a danger that a hard frost could have the game called off, John?

Note to self: Some Stourbridge fans cannot take the banter.
Apparently, in a club ground that does not like swearing or any form of trouble, it is ok to be threatened to have your head kicked in and be told you live in a sh*thole?
Yet when they get called an inbred (jokingly, obv) and told that our ground is better than theirs (which it is) amongst other things...we get 4 stewards around to contain 6 of us. It was pretty funny to be honest...
Big thanks to Fordy for defending us post-match. Also, big thanks for the round. Hero.
The football itself is more important however, and the match was great fun to watch, some good football being played. All on the floor in midfield, knocking it around the box, keeping possession until the right chance came along. Got the result. Held them off despite them hitting the post and posing a threat towards the end with a free kick or two.
Much better than Tuesday. Well worth the trip up.

It really wasnt that bad was it? If they'd mobbed up we could have had a bit of ag, but it was just one idiot wasn't it?

It really wasnt that bad was it? If they'd mobbed up we could have had a bit of ag, but it was just one idiot wasn't it? Amended. A few of them didn't take too kindly. That one guy and his mates called us 'pathetic', then there was the guy that flipped when he got called an 'inbred' after saying we lived in a shithole, then the other guy that said "I'll give you a wave...then a punch" and then concluded with "you have to get out of the ground first..." A few isolated incidents rather than a general frosty reception. Still, not really what you expect when you go away. We're always nice to our away fans, and from what I gather the only other time a bit of grief has been thrown our way has been Bury at home and Chesham away. Still, all banter, fun and games from our point of view at the end of the day. The main thing is City won. Bring on Farnborough midweek.

Hmm Stour fans dont normally get too much critisism! Are you sure it was so one sided?? Or maybe all the drink consumed clouded your vew a bit! Respect where you are and you will get respect back - dont and you wont - simple rule in life really!!

the old ponytail chap was rather embarassing to himself really, getting all upset about the 'garden shed' chant and then declaring our ground to be a 'shithole'...., you'd have thought he'd know better at his age.
also the baldie marching around the ground trying to act important was a personal highlight, complaing on "smoke going up behind the goal" and how "those 6 should be thrown out"
1 steward to every 2 supporters! , Well done lads you made some noise and got behind the boys.
I wonder how Stourbridge coped with 2,000 in there for the Walsall cup game thou!

Yes a couple of them were a little daft. No need to get a aggressive over a silly song, it is a football match after all! We were passive & non-agressive for the most, but obviously didnt take kindly to being threatened (by a couple of supporters) and then intimidated by the stewards watching our every move (four stewards for six fans!). At least the ponytailed old man can tell his mum what a hero he was standing up to the away fans. And the stewards got their day out. Bless. It's a shame, because the majority of the Stour fans were fine. Chatting before, during and after the match, they made us very welcome in the clubhouse. Great chips & curry

To be honest it was all a bit of a storm in a tea cup really, but that was how they chose to react.
The most important thing was the win and we got it, first half was a bit hairy but Dougie done the job for us to ensure the 3 points.
Throat is still horse today! :-)

Regarding the flag - hmmm.... might have got mistakenly packed in one of the boxes we haven't unpacked yet when we moved. We meant to leave it with someone... we'll see if we can find it. If anyone ever needs a flag made I can recommend the barmyflags website, which is where that one came from. It's not cheap but the service is good.
