The Over 35's start up again after a break since last November, and it couldn't come any harder than an away fixture to Kidlington on Wednesday night, kick-off 7.45PM. You could almost call this a championship decider? both teams unbeaten in the league this season, something will have to give. With only 5 games remaining, Kidlington are top, 5 points ahead of us having played 1 more game than us. A win would put both teams in a very strong position.
We have almost a full squad available, with Andy Marriott the only absentee through injury. Leigh Bastable makes his long awaited veteran debut since reaching that lovely age.
Squad: Colin Fleet, Simon Pagano, Robert Tutton, Julian Dark, Justin Lee, Leigh Bastable, Mark Jennings, Chris Fontaine, Paul Spittle, Ronnie Williams, Mark Orlando, Paul Kimber, Wayne Holden, Julio Barresi, Dave Southam.

Any news on what happened at Kidlington - I just spotted the worrying "abandoned - player injury" note on the Hellenic site.

It was a real shame that last nights game ended with such an unfortunate injury!
The game had been played in a great spirit and could of gone either way.
I hope that Garry makes a quick and full recovery from this.

Indeed I hope that he recovers as soon as possible. I have been lucky not to have witnessed many injuries like that when playing and it's not something that you expect to see in our Vets games.
It seems that the Tibua and Fibula bones have been broken which is exactly what the paramedic mentioned when they were looking at him on the pitch.
I look forward to hearing that he's on the mend and intending to put his boots back on because as much as he tries to wind you up on the pitch with his chatter (good natured piss-taking about our lack of abilities compared to his) and his skill (nutmegs whenever possible and pinging the ball all over the place) it's always great to play against a real good quality player with bags of talent.

I have spoken to the Kidlington manager this morning, and it has been confirmed that Gary Parker has broken his Tibua & fibula. As long as the swelling goes down, then they will operate tomorrow. As Kimber (supersub) has stated, such a shame for the game to finish in this manner. The game was an absolute credit to both sides again, as it always is when we play Kiddy. The score was 2-1 to City with 18 minutes remaining (report to follow). All at City wish Parks a speedy recovery.
