With Pondy heading to Aus for a few weeks it looks as though we will need another central midfielder to act as cover and provide competition for Liam and Sav, any ideas on who we could bring in?
Also think we should look to bring in another centre forward, I think it'd be worthwhile taking a look at Jon Mills at Abingdon United or perhaps Nicky Gordon of Woodford
Anyone got any views on possible signings?

I was a massive Forri fan but sadly his best days have passed.

Forget Forrington, you won't get him on Ponds wages, and he's not as good. Agree good days have gone

Central Midfield Player - how about Justin Merritt ? He could also help out with the training sessions, and bring Faulkner along with him as well Alternatively, what about Michael Alexis ?

Am i missing something or are you missing something:-
Alexis- Just left the club as lack of starts..
Faulkner- Played for city 2 last season and was very poor disciplinarywise.
Merritt:- left in august cos of work commitments, only good at sunday league football/Hellenic League at best..
I like the look of our new lad.. Emery looks a good proposition for the squad..

I was being ironic ( and actually you were the one who mentioned Faulkner ! ). I could also have mentioned that if we need a goalscorer then there is a chap at Carshalton who is doing well at the moment.....
The timing of the departure of Alexis seems odd. Did the club know Pondy was going away for 5 weeks ? We let a good midfielder leave and then immediately are short of midfield players....
Of the players mentioned by Padz, I don't think Mills is ready yet for a higher division but is one for the future. Gordon is a proven goalscorer at this level so would be a good addition.
If we are looking at players in the first division capable of playing at a higher level then I would suggest Chennels at Windsor.

The club knew Pondy would be away in pre-season. Plenty of notice I would have thought.

We should sign Leon Gordon. Ex-Wycombe Wanderers. Played for Abingdon in the cup against Beaconsfield, came on as a sub, hatrick, but then he didn't get picked to start the next few matches and has now quit. Free agent. Sign him up...

Heard alot about him from his Ardley days. Quick striker with an eye for goal. Could probably work well on the wing too. Although the last thing we want is a trouble maker not willing to sit on the bench if other options are available.

Best local striker around is the lad Thompson from Witney. A class act if Fordy really wants to play 2 at top and not look after his mates. Only issue with Thompson is that he's on contract but is a well worth the gamble.

Timestamp on the forum post meant I was on this when I shouldn't have been. Besides, he's gone back to Ardley today actually. Missed oppourtunity now. Oh well.

My dad said while taking alook down the live transfers yesterday (15/01/10) that he saw Puddy had now signed for City. I know Fordy was looking to extend the loan as Knight is still not fit.
Anyone have any info on this?

Bumping back to the top as we surely need to bring 1 or 2 in especially with a hectic fixture schedule coming up.
Elliott sandy's name was brought up and he'd be a very smart signing for us, grabs a fair few goals, another who could bring energy and goals from the midfield would possibly be Mark Baker from Kidlington?

You must have said that with tongue in cheek or he must be your best mate may i suggest that you go and watch these players before saying things like that
