I said before the game that I'd be happy with a point from Gosport, so can't exactly complain. Don't think either side did enough to win it though.
City seemed to be in control for the majority of the game, helped by a solid defence, Hendo showing the form today that he showed at the latter stages of last season. Stoney had a solid performance on his return, and sure he'll improve in weeks to come when he gets back into the hang of Conference South football.
Matty Bevans as well as another decent defensive performance seemed to be pushing up a bit more today, however a final delivery still seems to be missing. I'm sure he's probably working on this, although we have probably taken for granted over the past 14 months what Luke did, obviously a player who was always too good for the Conference South
Going forward, there were very few times either teams could get through the defences, the times we had shots at goal, just didn't seem to have any finishing. Bubb had a few attempts wide, or straight at the keeper, and Julen had a good attempt first half that really should have gone in yet put it wide.
So promising that there was a better performance, but will never get anything out of the game if you can't score goals. Hopefully we will find where the back of the net is again soon, and maybe start pushing for the playoffs again

Spoke to the old man on the phone earlier....he said pretty much identical to this. The positives being we held 4th in the table with a very depleted squad and looked more solid defensively.

I hid behind a pylon as our team warmed up watched the back four for five minutes then. Can't say I spring into action, just made myself known, sort of flopped to the corner flag under immense pressure from Siberian wind and smiles from our defense. Did not go for usual tactics, as officials seemed fine.
So just encouragement from me, all the game.
Agree with Most of Logistics comments. Hendo headed everything, great in the air today dominated. Paul stonehouse fantastic return, made only one mistake, but his encouragement to the lads around him paid off as they cleared the danger.
Pondy getting back to full fitness and closed down, and fed the front line. Their Keeper made a few fine saves, but in the first half on one occasion we must have made at least ten passes and the end product was tame. But it was good to watch we looked like we could score at any minute, the pressure was on, our back four looked solid. Last ten of first half they Battled back into it, their number ten looked dangerous and Laurie saved a couple from his quick runs into our area. Jose, Bevans fine performances, we looked much more like the finished article, but still room for improvement.
Only one observation for which I spoke to the lino about and the ref in a respectable manner. From corners Laurie had to punch and was struggling, I noticed we had put a defender near him because their number seven was trying his best to obstruct him, and Credit to Laurie he did not complain for fear of becoming a nuisance and getting a Card, Eventually helped by the bench and my good self two fouls were given for this, followed by a yellow card, then he stopped, before he got a red.
The bite was back, we looked like we wanted all the points. But yes a draw was a fair result. Wasn't at the last game, but huge improvement from the teams performance against Hayes, keep it going!
Talked to their fans and Stewards, a very nice setup, and friendly.
