This subject has been lashed into on regular basis over the last few hundred years or so Life can be trying at times. And like many people at the moment my close family are having their fair share... Distraction can be a blessing, and I went to Damson park today to see a few friends and get valuable info from their supporters club chairman, who said they had less fans than us 3 years ago. Absolutely, The welcome was truly superb especially when one wag said he's at the wrong game: And when are you going to do a blog where you attack even yourself, it was so funny I would pay for it. No Idea about that The game finished 1-1 they have the former Worcester Keeper who was very good, at times he was like 3 extra defenders, he commanded his area so well. Ashby for me was very good and a loan prospect as a backup would be a good move. Then you get a Banbury fan who forgets who he supports, giving his half penny's worth Just reminded him of their past, and good old Jedwood. We must move on from yesterday, and get behind the players And structure and yes try to heal adversity which has come to this wonderful club and move on..... Anyway Statto has documented much to be debated, I have contact numbers flyer samples etc all of which I am humbled and very happy that he has put work into a similar structure to help us. Its attracted more fans to the now AutoTech stadium. I will pass this on to Padz and Mark for their consideration, it is detailed. But could be very valuable advice. Oh Hedges needs to read it first

Yes. Agree, i think more needs to be done to encourage more fans, i know the clubs and fans have tried hard to get support, but we need to think of new ways and finding out iniatives from other clubs which we could try. We really need to set up this Supporters Club/Trust aswell, will be a very good idea.

I think more players, parents, Grandparents etc... from our 40+ teams could attend Saturday Home games if they can spare the time, I caught quite a few after being at a home or away game in the morning with the U16's/U18's,but some I didn't make it to at all, but if you could make a few throughout the season or attend as a whole team now and again would help I am sure

Good point Tutty I have brought this up before. I passed some info to a club official at The Didcot game last night. Statto gave me a load of flyers that just need the Template changed. I saw Mark and gave him a copy, and also gave others a copy for their consideration. It was done for a trial period and was so successful the it is now a regular thing which more that Doubled Solihulls fan base. A full colour flyer with the club Badge and logo at the top. Free Entry to One League Game between August and October. But it could be any two month period. Free Car Parking Licenced Bar Sky sports etc, advertised on the front of the Leaflet/flyer with a couple of action pictures from Moors games. Their website facebook info twitter address also on the front with ground address and League sponsors info. On the back which is the most important.. Club emblem badge address phone number email: proud members National conference south. Then upcoming fixtures for trial free entry period remember one game only a printed google map of how to get to the ground again he metioned you can put in bus routes and they have a taxi firm with their emblem phone number on. Match day prices are advertised. Then at the bottom of the back of the Flyer is this: *How to claim your free Match ticket for any of the above games? Simply fill in your details below. Then Bring it along to Main reception(our case Turnstile's/ entrance)On any of the match days stated above in return for ground pass/ticket.. Then Name...... First time at OCFC? Yes No Email....... Postal address. I would add Mobile number optional for OCFC Publicity future texts. Solihull offered them 50% Off there next game if your game ended in a defeat.I would drop this idea in our case They didn't have to honor this as they won most games. That's their info more or less. It gets peoples contact details and welcome them to the club. And usual disclaimer data protection info at bottom saying nothing will be shared with third party and all info held in confidence. Finally we also discussed forming a supporters society/club.This would be separate from the club.Worth noting that since Solihull have done this they have their own 18 seater fans minibus sponsored by Autotech who also funded part of its purchase. it sits proudly in their carpark with The teams logo on and Badges embossed on the outside. All they have to fund is the petrol and usually have a fan who drives. This took sometime to organize but shows what can be done.

Yes, Colin was of course the Club Official. I passed the info onto who else. He encouraged and welcomed The Idea of the Fans forming a supporters club /society. That is what he said. We discussed it amongst the fans who Where there and talked about meeting one hour before a home game to discuss and Elect 3 representative's Chairman, secretary and treasurer. I was about to Post this when the devastating news came. I know Brian has mentioned players and coaches were upset in the Oxford Mail recently This was visible and understandable. It was also a sombre seen on the terraces At Marlow. I was going to suggest meeting one hour before the first home Game somewhere but think it should be left until the second home game out of Respect.

I think everyone involved with the club, also not involved with the club in Oxfordshire should try their hardest to be at the first home game and fill the place to capacity and make a very special atmosphere, unless on club duty elsewhere of course. Also a fans &supporters club/society also a great idea and needs to be taken forward and born correctly with a strategy

I think waiting for the second game is certainly best. As I said in the announcement thread ive lost track of things abit and thought we were still afew weeks away from season start.
Annoyingly im at a wedding on the 6th so won't be able to attend the first game....im gonna come into oxford sometime during the week and sign the Book of condolence though.
on the subject at hand I agree totally with this, Ive thought so for awhile and feel even stronger about it now!!

I think the Next Saturday home game after the opener Concorde at home on the 20/8/16. Where and when to be arranged and confirmed. It also gives time to get orgainised. Any input or ideas would be more than welcombe.
I have had contact like I have said with a number of reps from supporters clubs over the past few seasons. Most have completely different setups. But the Main advice from all of them was Name a date, a time and a location get as many as possible to turn up First meeting get orgainised someone to take minutes (record them). Get 3 basic reps in place Chair first to conduct things, then Secretary to organise, and Treasurer to keep funds should a membership fee be agreed, and various other funding to be discussed. Tribute to Colin. Then membership fee discussion. Any other Ideas discuss. Arrange date time place of next meeting.. Adjourn.
We can coordinate transport Ideas etc for away games, promote the club. And bring Ideas to encourage more support.

One thing that has to happen for an official supporters club to be successful is someone who can attend every meeting on behalf of the club and represent the committee and all the teams that play under the Oxford City Umbrella. This person must have access to the committee and be able to report back to them as required.
Not only this but it gives the committee a mouth piece to directly interact and share any grievance the committee has with supporters (what they perceive to be inappropriate chants/songs etc for example)
The single biggest reason we now need an Official supporters trust/club is because the complete break down of trust and communication between the tiny core fan base and those that run the club.
Its taken an hugely tragic event to start the process of bridging that gap...lets continue to rebuild those bridges and use the supporters trust to help the committee to push the club forward as best we can.
We need honesty and more openness not conflict!

I've Been totally open with who I have talked to concerning the first meeting this is of course up to us to put forward to the club, purely my opinion, something to discuss. I have said on behalf of the fans who have approached me we will be totally open. No hidden agenda's,everyone welcome to first meeting including any present committee members. spoke to other fans at Dunstable last night from other areas of the club they were interested. Plenty to discuss Brian Said a place will be provided at the ground to facilitate, it might be the broom cupboard. Probably best to meet in the Club on 20/8/16 at now 1pm move on from there.

Agree with much of that John. But we were talking about a supporters long before the recent tragedy. We now a Facebook Event for the first meeting to discuss ideas of a supporters club/trust. This is to be before the game against Concord Rangers. Neil has spoke with the club and they are happy for us to have space on site to hold a meeting. Hope to see a few of you at it! We want to bring us supporters together as a group and to help our club in the process.

Just like to add there's been plenty of ideas already on Membership fees/Fund, 50/50 ticket proposed introduction called that because 50% goes to the winner of sold tickets and the other half the club or fund. Its all for promotion of the club help to do our part. These are proposal's and ideas, the structure as Hedges has said must be decided by members in cooperation with the club. But in order to do this we need our first meeting. Absolutely agree with Hedges sentiment's.
