Another disappointing performance and result today against relatively weak opposition who took one of their two chances well (Jack having saved the other one superbly). We missed chances and lacked confidence in front of goal. Once we crack it, more goals may flow, but at present it is hard to see where they are going to come from. The defence played well but are always liable to be punished for one slack moment, so we have to score a couple of goals to secure three points. Too much depends on the form of Scott Davies, and he had a poor game today which typified many others too. Our passes kept going astray, crosses and through balls were overhit, and the first touch was generally not quite good enough. Neither side strung many passes together, so it was a scrappy game. City resorted to a lot of long balls which were no problem for the Thurrock defence. We lacked a left side midfield and a threat down the right wing so Thurrock could pack their middle and right side, making penetration difficult, and when we did get through the ball did not run for us in any of several goal area scrambles. Personally I thought the substitutions came too late--even at half time I was predicting a 0-1 defeat unless we upped our game or reorganised, and neither happened until we were down and nearly out. The consolation is that just one or two decent wins could both lift us up the table, and raise confidence to get a run going--but the longer we go without it, the more difficult a recovery and escape from relegation will become. And so far we've played most of the weaker teams--we have a tougher fixture list coming up. A real test of both manager and squad with backs to the wall and no money in the kitty. But what an achievement for both if we can get out of this hole!

The Rugby Tackle on Kynnan from their keeper caught in the Picture. Is incredible, even the expression on their centre halfs face suggests he thought his Goalkeeper was on his way for an early bath. If that wasnt a penalty i dont know what is.

I knew Kynan Isaac was quick, but he really excelled himself on Saturday as he played v ETHFC AND he's also listed as in the XI that started for NomDevs against Clanfield Res. on the 3G. Or is there another KI, in which case any chant of "...there's only one Kynan..." will have to be rethought!!

Both Kyreece Martei AND Kynan Isaac (or Issac as they have it!) listed in starting line-up! So not that.
