That was pretty comprehensive! Well done, you Hoops. Onwards and definitely upwards.

Great result! Who scored the second--Cundy or Hendo?

Cundy bundled the second one in!
It's a shame Wasn't Hendo. On his 100th appearance for the first team! More thoughts on a terrific display and result tomorrow!

What a terrific performance yesterday Away at Margate. A thumping 5-0 win which could of been alot more. There keeper was there best player and kept the score respectable. From the first whistle City were on top of there game Fleet and Ashby controlling the midfield and the whole Team playing a fantastic passing game. Early chances came and Roberts and Giles had efforts just wide. Jefferson Louis then turned the ball home but was adjudged to have fouled in the process the 4 City fans reeling as the goal should of stood. Margate then had a few corners but came to nothing. City upped the tempo and Giles and Winters kept interchanging. Fleet and Ashby bossing the midfield and advancing wherever possible. Poku and Roberts linking up well on the left. Louis a handful once again and holding up anything that dropped to his feet. A few half chances came and went. Just before half time Poku took a chance on a ball which was misplaced latched on and ran and slotted Cooly home ( His persistence deserving of that goal!). City continued to pass there way up the field and a dangerous Winters free kick caused havoc in the penalty area and Cundy was on hand to fire home on the stroke of half Time. Margate were becoming increasingly frustrated and fouling at every opportunity as they couldn't get near the ball. Jonny Giles will be feeling sore today, amount of times Margate swiped at him. The second half started where the first has finished City continued to pile forward and were rewarded when a lovely run from James Roberts and cross found Winters who dummied the defender and finished well 3-0. Winters went close to another moments later when a free header when over the bar. Louis then got took at 60 mins with the game looking good and Fondop came on. Jonny Giles was still everywhere in a forward capacity skipping past 3-4 players at times and feeding Fondop and Roberts. Giles played a lovely through ball and Fondop outmuscled Margate backline and fired home. Roberts then had a goalbound effort blocked and Fleet had a shot just past the post. Belford in the city goal a spectator for much doubt with a few crosses but was rarely troubled as the play was way out in front of him. Davies and Ngathe came on and the latter was having a lot of joy out wide. The final goal came in last two minutes when Fleet found Poku and he cut in and played a ball across where Fondop tapped home. Fondop had a chance of a hat trick but his effort just trickled past the goalposts.
This was a fantastic performance from start to finish. Some of the football was a joy to watch very fluid and attacking. A whole team collective. The defence looked solid but rarely tested. Midfield energy and passing was once again strong. Wide players and front players linking well and Jonny Giles free role once again thriving. Promising signs indeed. 3 wins in a row, not only playing good football but getting points. Confidence key in football. That said Margate are struggling but take nothing away from City who were stronger, clinical and worked as a team.

There is an OM report on Saturday's match HERE...though I'm a little concerned that, according to the report, we "decimated" our hosts. Seems a little OTT.
