The Over 40's Vets are in the County Cup Final on Wednesday night against Chinnor at Abingdon Town, kick-off 7.45PM.
After last week's excellent 5-0 away win to Old Hooky in the semi-final, City have a tough game against a strong Chinnor team, who only 3 weeks ago inflicted City's first defeat of the season 1-0.
The lads had a get together at the weekend, and had a much needed team bonding session. It started at 9am on Saturday morning down at the City club for a muesli & fruit breakfast washed down with a few glasses of Orange Juice. We then boarded our luxury coach, and headed for a leisure spa break at Ascot. Whilst most of the boys chose to either have a swim, jacuzzi or sauna, Bradders went for a manicure and had his chest waxed. One nice surprise for the boys was to have local celebrity, Bobby Ford (along with his minder James Thorpe) join us on the trip, and give us his advise on how to handle the big day. He also gave Julio Barresi some good advice on how to take penalties??? Suzanne & Trinny also popped in to see the boys, and gave some fashion tips to Creedy.
5PM, and the boys boarded the coach to head back to Oxford. You could see that day had taken it out of Jules & Fordy, as they shut their eyes and had a sleep all the way home.
The day was not over there though, as the boys then headed for Oxford, and ended up in the Living Room for a relaxing few drinks, and a nice meal. Unfortunately Phil Rodney was refused entry, and sent to the Oyster bar down the road.
Hopefully, all this team bonding will work in our favour for Wednesday night.
2 changes from last week's win see's Chris Fontaine replace Paul Spittle, who fell off his horse (Kojak) on Saturday, and Julio Barresi replaces Wayne Holden, who pulled his ham-string whilst dancing in the Living Room on Saturday night.
Squad: Colin Fleet, Robert Tutton, Julian Dark, Justin Lee, Simon Pagano, Martin Smy, Steve Richardson, Chris Fontaine, Shaun Bradbury, Ronnie Williams, Mike Ford, Mark Orlando Paul Kimber, Julio Barresi.
