Agreeing with Hedges, it could well be a stressful afternoon. However, take heart from the fact that City have won on all five occasions that Braintree have previously visited Marsh Lane: the last time being when Danny Wise grabbed the game's only goal in Round Two of the FA Trophy in November 2002 before City went on to that oh-so-close defeat at Stevenage Borough in Round Three.

Oh well, there has to be a first time for everything. City certainly need a win on Tuesday at Twerton Park.

Thought we had an excellent first 40 minutes then sat back and let them dictate.
Paterson is the top scorer in the league yet we are fourth bottom of the league. Doesn't take a genius to work out our defence needs serious changes.
Can't understand the subs today, was Zac injured? And why take our danger man off? Left feeling deflated but still think a draw would have been a fair result today.

Frustrating i think sums up the current mood amongst supporters, players, and management. Once again early doors we were quick out the traps and could have easily been 2-3 up inside first 20 mins. After that Braintree made a substitution and it worked perfectly for them. They started to have more of the ball and dictate more of the game. The tackle just on the stroke of half time was a killer blow, not a great time to concede. Looked from my angle behind goal at the other end that Jones won the ball and took the man, from people i spoke to at HT said it was a pen so no complaints on that one. Second half saw quite a fair game imo both teams seem to have less energy but the problem was the break when we did try to get forward the final ball went astray or players were dissposessed we were caught short at the back. The winner from them came from a freekick of our own, played short and they broke and there striker had a bit of time on the far side to finish low under Stevens. As we searched to come back into it it looked like it wasn't going to be our day again and the lads looked really tired at this point.
Its a tough rut we are in as Jonah says in his post match interview. We are missing key players at moment, we are a little thin on the ground. Most of the starting 11 have played all 8 matches in first month. Its not for the want of trying. It just needs a positive result and believe that will lift everyone. We have been unlucky and victim of our own mess at times so far but lets stay together and get out of this little rut! COYH 🔵⚪️⚽️

I've said this in a few other places but it bares repeating. We are currently in a situation where the easy headline is that we've only taken 1 point from 4 games, but when you look at how those games went 2 of them were ridiculously tight. The bullshit penalty against Welling has cost us 2 points and a stoppage time wonder save at Chippenham has stopped us nicking a draw - if those key moments go the other way we're looking at 3 more points which would put us into the top 10. That's football - things often come down to a single moment and those moments have been going against us - it all evens out over the course of a season.
Ignoring the Dartford debacle, we are yet to be beaten by more than one goal but we've pulled off two convincing wins. The midfield looks very strong with Zac in particular putting the wind up every defense he has faced so far. We've got the league's joint top scorer in Paterson with Bennett also on the way back from injury. These are the things that matter: being near the bottom of the table this early in the season is fairly meaningless.
