Well done to Nomads on another win on Tuesday night. That's 19 goals in the last four games, and they've now won as many leagues matches as they managed in the whole of last season...onwards and upwards!

It could have been a few more last night as well. Burnham had everybody behind the ball for 90 minutes, even at 3-1 down.

You really need to watch this young team. They play football with freedom and skill. And score goals for fun.

Yes, it would be good to keep this group of younger players together and develop their skills etc over the next few seasons at this very reasonable and competitive level of football. It seems quite a few of the last few seasons' players from Nomads, Nomads Development and City Development sides have been lost from the Club.

Has anyone else tried to use the new 'improved' version of the FA Full-Time site...it's absolutely horrendous. The only way, as far as I could find, to check out all Nomads' results/scorers etc for the whole season is to go back, via the handy button at the bottom of the page, to what they call the 'old' Full-Time. I hope this new disaster is easier to use for those from the Club who have to put in match details!

The lads are young 17-22 plus one 24 year old I think and have shown promise in most games, some have been involved in and around the first team and a progress pathway is seen,if players are fit enough, good enough, willing to learn and listen and push themselves to be better they can play anywhere. The results have been varied and they will continue to be until the consistency, concentrate levels and game/positional awareness is there with a bit of experience of playing at different and new physical levels and the demands, but they are heading in the right direction for sure.

Totally agree appreciate we run a very small 1st XI squad so think its very positive to see the infrastructure that has been put in place this season with the Nomads,I have seen the Nomads play a couple of times at home this season and been very impressed and gives the club hope of developing a few home grown regular 1st XI for the future. So it was great to see some of the Nomads players on the bench at Colchester I was at the Leiston FA cup game and was very impressed with Tutton when he came on early in 2nd half and felt his contribution and performance even helped us secure the win so good to see he has continued to be involved and will get his chance eventually. Keep up the hardwork everyone

Agree entirely. If the budget remains tight then it is very important indeed that the Club nurtures young, local talent, and, just as importantly, hangs onto these players.

Ah yes, I see it's just gone on the Twitter feed a few minutes ago. Though it was a big win last year (6-0), the other two matches Nomads have had against them in the OSC in the past have been much closer affairs.

Never seems to be a shortage of goals in Nomads' games one way or another. Excellent win, 8-3, in the OSC. ...though the OFA site - bless 'em - has it down as 6-0.
The OFA site also shows Nomads home to Banbury United in Round 3 (where there are six ties). So it would look as though there has been a change in the exemptions this season, with only OCFC and OUFC given byes to the quarter-finals.

Another high scoring match involving Nomads tonight as they won against Chalfont Wasps: a repeat of their first ever match in the Hellenic League in August 2005 when Ben Moses got the first of his 99 goals for them. Only 3-1 on that afternoon...7-1 tonight.

Looking back, there are just eight players who have scored more than 30 goals for Nomads since they entered the HL.
Ben Moses (99 goals); Louis Joyce (65); Adam Lovegrove (47); Jon Rixon and Connor McDonagh (both 45); Jemaine Ferreira (44); Ian Roper (39) and Pablo Haysham (34).

Wouldn't disagree that, in the general scheme of things, nearly 8 out of 10 for something sounds pretty good, but there are only two of the forty-nine clubs in the Hellenic Premier and the two Divisions One that are lower: Woodley & Clanfield. The original 'mention' was very tongue-in-cheek, so it's probably just a matter of needing a few more prawns in the prawn sandwiches!!?

Good chance of plenty of goals as there have been 32 in Nomads' last four matches...though not all for Nomads, unfortunately.

OCN 2 - Highworth 3
Went along for my Season Nomads game (and to pick up more Notts Tickets) and I've actually witnessed a referee that makes Mr Sorano look half way competent.....remarkable.....gutted for the lads, didn't deserve that result...we were the better team through most of the game that was ruined by a ref with seemingly no idea.....City created some fine passing moves. very friendly on the eye and when it comes off a joy to watch capped with a couple of super finishes from Sami.
Quite enjoyed the occasion and id go to more Nomads games if I lived closer for sure!

Nothing on the City website...but a report on the match (CLICK HERE) from the Banbury United website. Several ex-City men in the Puritans' side + Jamie Heapy as an unused substitute. City 1st XI visit North Leigh in the quarter-finals of the competition in January.
