Really, really hoping that wasn’t our first 11 😢
Well played Brackley, bigger, stronger, faster and better all over the pitch.

Same as last season but it was at home and they played their top goalscorer then, who has gone onto better things now (Northampton will enjoy that remark).
Missing King in goal, Youngster playing, i think youth team. Jefford rested and to be assessed following injury. Sinclair slight groin strain, hopefully ready to start next week.
Last year on our own patch we created very little but picked up an injury, not sure whether it was Bennett but it matters not we started season with two injured one never took part in the season. We lost that game 3-0 so you could say it was an improvement.
Tabby (Tabbongo) sustained a couple of very hard challenges while through on goal, he was quickly taken off after second challenge he needed treatment. Yes I said last week if we get away from St James Park without injuries I'll be delighted. When Joe went down and didn't get up for a while, my heart sank. Very big side we will come across occasionally in the south. The ref was useless for a friendly, when some silly challenges went in he booked one of our players for complaining. What you should do is stop the game remind people its is a friendly and you will punish next stupid challenge, but it's Mr Mackie and we have history when we played in the North.
One really good chance but their keeper made a good save, he didn't let many in last season. They will do very well in their league this season again. Just hope after training Tuesday we don't have any other injury worries or Jonah will have to look elsewhere quickly, or shuffle the pack.

How did you get to Brackley Neil? I always take train to Banbury, few beers there and then bus to Brackley...missed this, as I have everything this close season - St Albans away with NTFC aside!

Went in the Frankmobile- lift from Frank in his Rover. Boy went via Banbury, apparently the Mad Bus station Manager told them to keep off the yellow lines. I think he thought they are vehicles of some sort.

Keeper was a bit flappy and looked young. Left back was taken apart and both Tabby and Izzy (?) missed open goals. The new lad at the back must not dribble the ball out of the back four, he lost it half a dozen times! All that said, it is pre season, we've had flashes of some really good play and some not so good, it's all about building. I believe Eastbourne may struggle this year, so we need to get off to a flyer on Saturday

I believe Eastbourne may struggle this year, so we need to get off to a flyer on Saturday Well their Twitter feed gave us as being on top first half despite the badly palmed in goal... It's still there have a look. As for Eastbourne, don't know whether they were not trying last weekend, but Lewis could of had several goals. Rooks in my opinion on a par with Chesham. But who knows... They seemed to walk through their midfield. Unfortunately after a display like that their manager probably gave them the hair dryer treatment as they lost 4-0 . Injuries will be assessed today fingers crossed for best possible starting line up Saturday.. Could be very interesting...
