So a local derby awaits in the FA Cup with North Leigh the visitors.
Should be an intriguing encounter but ultimately not one you can realistically see us slipping up in (we've said that before!)

Wonder if they'll bring more than the 2 (TWO) they took to Banbury for the OSC Semi-Final?

They're doing somewhat better this season - above Didcot, Kidlington, Thame and Wantage - and I think this round in particular often seems to have a banana-skin lying in wait for City. Certainly we should win, but we'll need to avoid any complacency.
(Just 8 meetings in the past - with four wins apiece.)

we can have a quiz question of how many ex-hoops will there be in North Leigh's match-day squad. I go for 7

I believe you would get a much bigger crowd if you played this tie on the Sunday. As a oufc fan this tie is of interest to me and quite a few others who will travel to Lincoln on Saturday. There may be reasons to why this tie is on the Saturday but I can't help thinking that City always seems to miss a trick.

I think it’s more of a case of what the FA will allow rather than the club ‘missing a trick’
I agree a Friday or Sunday kick off may draw a larger crowd, not sure that reason alone would sway the FA into moving the game

As a matter of interest did ocfc think or even ask the fa/comitee/members/supporters if a Sunday ko might be better as the two clubs are obviously local and it's an FA cup match?
And Fwiw and I'm not a City or North Leigh supporter just a oufc football geezer who would have probably paid to see this game on the Sunday or the Friday. I do believe City miss many tricks.

I understand your point. But as with the league,we have very little say in moving fixtures. This season we are struggling with always being at home most of the time United are. At least you are away, and we will get the usual, and maybe a few more that like a fine wine Don't travel well.

I think this round in particular often seems to have a banana-skin lying in wait for City. Mostly when drawn away Chris: Who can forget Yate and another place similar the following season... But I think on both occasions we were in the Conference North At the time, I'm might be wrong. A bit of unwanted trivia for you

Trivia Alert All seven goals from different scorers today... The last time that City had more than six different scorers in a game was way back in 1992 when they beat Buckingham United 8-1 and the goals came from Tony Price, Jon Hawkins, Darren McNamara, Andy Thomas, Rob Mason,Mark Thomas, Steve Aries and, like today, an own goal.

And how often has a sub scored as soon as he has come on?
Can anyone enlighten me about the argy-bargy at the end of the game?

The own goal was a real cracker. Poor old Adam Learoyd was charging back to defend his goal and his head met a deflection off another defender, and his momentum gave the goalie no chance with it! I thought that Jenson Wright made a good impresion on his debut, and Paul-Jones also did well. Ben Jefford doesn't usually get on the score sheet, and perhaps this was his first for City! A very good start on the Wembley trail. There were a fair number of North Leigh fans at the game.

Did'nt Jensen Wright make his debut last weekend. Regarding the cup not one of the scorers was a frontman, which alas is the problem at the moment.

You are right about Jenson (not sure how his name is spelt). He is on loan, isn't he?
As for the strikers, that's right too, but Owusu hit the post after coming on, Paul-Jones played wide and looked lively, and Beckles-Richards had a decent game too, I thought. They were creating chances with their pace when they got in down the flanks in the second half. Main striker Stefan Brown is out injured. I feel sorry for Craig Fasanmade. He is pacy and full of running, but after missing some chances (another one yesterday) is clearly desperate to score but consequently anxious in front of goal, and therefore lacking confidence, and therefore more likely to miss--it's a vicious circle. I still believe that once he has found the net two or three times we shall see him do so more regularly, but the question is how long Jonah will continue to give him a place if he is not on the scoresheet: he was taken off at half time. Maybe he needs a loan spell in the Southern league again to get his touch, but a slice of luck for him just now would not go amiss!

Absolutely agree, it wasn't working so he made the sub halftime, it did help us being 3 up, but how often last season did he not make a change until the 65 minute plus.. Obviously we need cover for injuries etc, but never be afraid to make a sub when it's not working be it 15 mins or 45 etc.
