Enough thumb-twiddling for today...so here are another ten questions that may (or may not!) get you thinking about OCFC for a minute or two.
Continue the thread with some thoughts/guesses/answers, or just wait till next week to see if you were right.
[1] John (Jack) Woodley played an incredible 917 games for the 1st XI. How many goals did he score in those games?
[2] Harry Isted played four games in goal for the 1st XI back in September. From which club was he on loan?
[3] Stuart Nelson, City's popular keeper in the 2001/02 season, went on to play many games at FL clubs including Brentford, Leyton Orient and Gillingham, but which Scottish League club did he play for?
[4] A bit of guesswork needed here...how close can you get? How many goals in total have Oxford City scored in the FA Cup?
[5] Reece Fleet passed 200 appearances for the 1st XI in the season just finished. Who was the last player to pass 300 appearances?
[6] City's new manager, David Oldfield, made 37 appearances for Oxford United, but for which league club did he make most appearances?
[7] Adi Yussuf, City's striker in the 2014/15 season has international caps for which country?
[8] Another bit of guesswork required here!! How many Oxfordshire Senior Cup matches have OCFC played?
[9] Elliot Benyon scored a hat-trick against Banbury in the Senior Cup tie back in March, but who was the last player to score four goals in a match for the 1st XI?
[10] Which two players jointly hold the OCFC record for scoring the most goals in a match?
Good luck...and stay safe.

9. Lee Steele v Supermarine?

9. Lee Steele v Supermarine? Close Padz, but Lee Steele got 3 and Steve Basham got the 4 that day when everything seemed to go in! But there's been one more time since then.

5) Andy Ballard? 9) Did Felipe Barcelos get 4 vs Hinckley?
And just to throw some numbers out with very little working out...
4) 400 5) 150
They’re probably miles away, so I’ll be delighted if either of them are anywhere near!

And just to throw some numbers out with very little working out... 4) 400 5) 150 They’re probably miles away, so I’ll be delighted if either of them are anywhere near! [5] Not Andy Ballard. That was my initial guess...but there is a more recent one. [9] Yes. Felipe Barcelos got 4 in the 6-2 win against Hinckley in 2013. It was all the 'Bs' that day as Steve Basham and Andy Ballard got the other two goals. The FA Cup goals and OSC matches questions will take some getting I suspect...not that close yet, I'm afraid. Keep the answers coming everybody!

5) Darren Pond?

Yes, it was Darren Pond. He made his 309th and final appearance for City at Whitehawk on 12/04/2016. So, just the 'older' questions left.

10) Is one of them Pete Slade

10) Is one of them Pete Slade [10] Yes indeed, Peter Slade scored NINE goals in the 15-1 demolition of Alcan Industries (NAC Banbury previously) in the Amateur Cup in September 1962. And there was another triple hat-trick scorer for City a few years later.

Yes indeed, Tony Bradbury! I have forgotten the actual occasion, whereas I clearly remember watching the 15 goals go in against Alcan. The local clubs are far more competitive these days, and even 7-0 against North Leigh a year or two is the exception rather than the rule.

Tony Bradbury scored nine in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup match against Woodstock Town (15-0 to City) in January 1966. City did get some big scores against one or two local sides around this time...but only a couple of months after the Woodstock game they lost 1-0 to Quarry Nomads in the same competition! Just the 'numbers' ones to go. Someone may well know the John Woodley one, but I think the others are going to have to be guesswork. See how close you can get.

Chris, going off the quiz for the moment. As some of the old names are coming up, I can remember some names of the outfield players around 58/60 but I cannot recollect the names of any keepers before John Shippey/John Maskell arrived. Can you oblige. Thanks.

Can you oblige. Thanks. There were quite a few who came and went, but those who played plenty of games were: 1947-51 - Aubrey Oakey 1951-53 - Dave Meeson/Brian Bowness 1953-54 - John Meade 1954-57 - Les Haydon 1957-59 - Mike Honey 1959-60 - John Staniland 1960-62 - Dennis Syrett 1962-64 - John Maskell 1964-68 - John Shippey 1968-75 - Peter Harris No great 'runs' after that until the '80s when both Mark Pearson and Mark Teasdale played plenty.

So, the last three answers...
[1] John (Jack) Woodley played an incredible 917 games for the 1st XI. How many goals did he score in those games? 414.
[4] A bit of guesswork needed here...how close can you get? How many goals in total have Oxford City scored in the FA Cup? Probably more than most would guess, 615, but then they have been playing in the competition for a very long time!
[8] Another bit of guesswork required here!! How many Oxfordshire Senior Cup matches have OCFC played? 320. A large number, but, as above, they have been playing in it for a very long time.
