A very competitive game last night, each side going at it hammer and tongs and producing some great football. It was a great advert for National South and will have been a very useful aid to preparation for Salop. Pity we couldn't grab all three points!

Yes, the first half in particular was good to watch and played at a fast pace. I thought City made some lovely moves in the first thirty minutes but once their energy dropped, Chippy came back and could have equalised before half time. They were stronger in the second half and well worth a share of the points; I couldn't agree with Josh Ashby's view afterwards that City dominated. Adam took their goal well.
One thing I do feel is that, when it is evident the team is running out of steam, we need to get subs on sooner. It's understandable that a fast-paced, high-press game is going to drain the batteries. These are not full-time pros and they have just done a day's work, so it's asking a lot of them. Chippy got more subs on sooner (one at half time) and it helped. But ours come on too late to make much difference. It was the same at Havant. Nana Owusu, especially, is worth more minutes on the pitch. He was our top goalscorer last season and this season he has been on the bench. He is often brought on, but only in the last five minutes. I shouldn't think he has had half an hour on the pitch in total yet. It isn't long enough to make an impact -- I think he got about two touches after coming on in the 87th minute last night. What's the point of that?
