Eric played his first match for Oxford City on August 24th, 1965 in an Isthmian League fixture at Hitchin Town, and two weeks later he scored his first goal for the club in a 5-2 FA Cup defeat of Maidenhead United at The White House. His final competitive appearance for the Club was over a decade later on April 30th 1976 at home against Enfield: three days later Oxford United brought a strong side to the White House to play in his testimonial.
In total he played 535 times for the 1st XI and scored 30 goals.
