Hi all
Hope you are looking forward to the new season and what I assume will be your first st this level (or least for some time)
I'll openly admit I don't know much about your club or the ground but just wondered if anyone had a rough idea what sort of allocation will be grant for our (Chesterfield) visit in August?
Despite being a Tuesday night, and not the closest trip I think it will still be a fairly popular one - new ground, summer holidays, attractive city etc so wondered what sort of away following you will allow? I think we could if allowed bring between 6-800 potentially.
Cheers & see you up here for the return leg!

I think the club is gearing up to be able to accommodate these sorts of numbers of away fans. So hopefully any of you Spirites that want to come down can...and you can all see what a spire is supposed to look like!
Really exciting to be playing at this level and taking on so many ex-EFLteams.The team has been superb the last three years each year improving on the last and we've played good possession based football. So we deserve a chance. Nevertheless it's going to be like 46 cup ties for us. We will be massive underdogs most weeks. But we've beaten ex-EFL teams before like Stockport County who we beat 4-1 and 4-2 at home, and in recent years had some great giant killings in the FA Cup most recently beating Northampton. So we start the season in hope.
Another cup upset saw one Kabby Tshimanga scoring a hatrick up at Tranmere. Kabby is sorely missed in these parts. Distance aside, if this is not the spires derby then maybe its the Kabby Tshimanga derby. Or just plain David against Goliath.

Tshimanga has now signed for Peterborough !
For the play-off semi and final, the away sides received an allocation of around 500 in the expectation that the games would sell-out. I doubt there will be 3,100 on a Tuesday night so hopefully some common sense will prevail and allow a larger away allocation.

Hasn't been a regular starter yet though. I'm sure Chesterfield will miss his goals as much as we did. I understand the club are putting in temporary stands right now to comply with regulations and so that there is enough capacity to enable maybe up to 1,000 away fans.

We've got around 70 tickets left of our initial allocation, so sold around 430 to season ticket holders so far with tickets not going on general sale until thursday so presume we will need another 300 at least if available

I think you will get what you want. Interestingly the Rochdale tickets for away supporters are being handled by City but Chesterfield have taken control of their distribution, clearly to make it fair given they expect a large number. By the looks of it you will probably break the away fans attendance record at the ground for a competitive match.

We have around 4100 ST holders apparently so expecting to get some good crowds this season. Didn't know Kabby played for you guys, we was ridiculous for us until he suffered a really bad leg break and never came back the same, although he di still get his big move to Peterborough so hoping he kicks on and finds some of the form and fitness he had pre injury We're making an afternoon of it now so heading down around lunchtime so any recommendations for a spot for some good food and a beer would be greatly appreciated!

The local pub is the red lion in old marston just a short walk through the field serves food and drink and the landlord might even let you park there

Red Lion is the closest as stated above also near is the Up In Arms I've seen away supporters in there.
If you come from the station there is a cracking south indian dosa house called Dosa Park near the station. Then you could walk up to Jericho which had loads of pubs including the Bookbinders Jericho tavern, Jude the obscure, the Gardener's Arms the Victoria.
In the centre there is the Turf Tavern of Morse fame. The other area is around the Cowley Road which has loads of restaurants from all over the world and a few pubs off it like the Cape of Good Hope, James Street Tavern or a bit further away the Rusty bicycle and St Clements which has a number of pubs including the Port Mahon.
Finally probably out of your way but if coming from the south there is the Whitehouse which serves micro brewery ales from a social enterprise brewery. The pub sits next to the site of our wonderful old ground and spiritual home, the Whitehouse Ground
Oxford is a nightmare to drive in though, lots of LTNs and parking can be tricky. You have to be aware of the bicyclists as a pedestrian or as a driver. Alot do what they want and can be very entitled and aggressive. So steer clear!

It says on the stadium guide that programmes are available from the club shop inside the home turnstiles. As the game is segregated will you be selling them inside the away section as well?

I'm guessing but probably as you go in at the turnstiles or just beyond. It's difficult to be sure as permanent segregation and the way the club has therefore organised everything as a result is new to everyone.
