Good to get that first point on the board.

Definitely goes down as a game of two halves, with City not really finding their feet in the first half, bit of a lack of energy, taking a fraction too long on the ball allowing Halifax to close us down and force mistakes, and therefore deservedly went in ahead.

But whatever Ross said at half time worked a treat, a similar situation to Chesterfield where we were energetic and got our passing game going. Eventually equalised with a good goal, and probably should have nicked it with a few good chances, including a header from Canice right at the end that their keeper tried his best to drop over the line. It looked fairly over from our angle, but from Simon’s photos he probably just clawed it away just in time.

Got to be happy with a point though to get the season going, and gives us something to build upon.

Interestingly reading the Halifax post match commentary they not only pretty much agree with the above word for word but their scouting team think City deserved something from both the Rochdale and Chesterfield games. Moreover they think we are a decent team that will settle down and do well in the league.
