Interesting to see just how far both clubs have come since their first meeting. Back in the 92/93 season City (then in the South Midlands League) travelled to play Eastleigh (then in the Wessex League) in the FA Vase: City won 3-1.

A good point to come back from 0-2 with 15 minutes left to play. That's 7 games unbeaten now !

That was certainly a case of 1 point feeling like a win.
An odd game with a swirling wind and drizzle that played a big part, the first half we were barely in it, sloppy and lacking our usual zip, Eastleigh employed a long ball forward which held up in the wind to allow their two big forwards to dictate, We mustered a couple of breaks AWB getting in down the right hand side and they scored a goal that was really a bit of a mess.
Second half better from us, Coyley having a lot of joy down the left, they hit a second out of nowhere from a big punt from the goalkeeper and they assumed game over, which provided a catalyst for our comeback, we are never beaten, A great finish from Coyley topped off by Latrell scoring minutes later.
A quick note on Eastleigh, a club a bit like ourselves in a way with some big EFL clubs nearby in Southampton and Portsmouth so probably difficult to build a core support, our quotes flag has the quote of ‘Atmospherically moribund’, but that would be apt for Eastleigh last night, absolutely silent during the game, you could hear the ref coughing at times and quoting a 1600 attendence when there seemed to be nowhere near that amount in the ground
