It seems there is some doubt over Tuesday night's game taking place.
Apparently Essex police have advised that if the sale of the club has not happened, or if there is not any concrete evidence of a sale going through, then the game against us should not go ahead on "safety grounds".

All OK now. The club has been given a six week extension on the non-payment of the electricity bill to nPower.
Congratulations to Oxford City on reaching the fifth tier of the pyramid and I hope that you thrive here. I hope that you do yourselves justioce, however, I think you may struggle against us tomorrow night. Despite all our off-field problems we are in good form and have some skillful players. Should be a big crowd too.

Trivia Alert...
I noticed City's match preview mentioned the clubs had met before when both in Germany. The Southend match preview also had the original advert(?) for the match: an interesting piece of memorabilia. City are called the 'best English amateur team' while SUFC are 'an excellent professional players' team'.
City did lose 10-1 that day (22/05/1910), but did win the other two matches on that Whitsun Tour: 4-0 against Berlin Union FC (21/05/1910) and 1-0 against Hertha Berlin (23/05/1910). I can't imagine many teams being too keen on playing three games in three days nowadays!!
